The Schools Division Office of Kabankalan City acknowledges the contributions of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in uplifting the standards of Education and support in the Country through scholarship grants which enable the deserving students to pursue college education. 2. In its thrust to promote the pursuit of fisheries studies among high school graduates, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will be conducting a nationwide competitive examination for the two components of the Fisheries Scholarship Program- Fisheries Industry Leader (FIL) and the Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant (FCEG) this coming February 24,2018 (Saturday). 3. The program is offering scholarship to high school graduating students who are interested to pursue a four-year BS Fisheries Course starting first semester of SY 2018-2019. 4. Testing center for the Province of Negros Occidental is still being coordinated. Filled up application form and required documents should be submitted at the BFAR Regional Office 6, Muelle Loney St. or at any BFAR Provincial Fishery Office (see attached address) on or before February 15,2018. Application forms can also be downloaded at www.region6.bfar.da.gov.ph. 5. Attached are the details and application forms of the scholarship program. 6. GENERAL CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY

1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen; 2. Any high school graduate or graduating student; 3. Not more than 25 years old at the time of the examination, who has not

earned any units in college; 4. Who belongs to the TOP TEN of his/ her graduating class, duly certified by the

school head/ principal; 5. For high school graduate applicants who completed their high school under

the old curriculum, the general weighted average (GWA) shall not be lower than 80%;

6. For graduating students GWA of the last 3 immediate preceding semesters of his Senior High School in any Track shall not be lower than 80% or its equivalent

7. Of good moral character as certified by the school head; 8. Parent(s)/guardian or the applicant must be physically residing in the

municipality of the region for at least six (6) months, where the slot of the scholarship program is allotted.

SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT/ PRIVILEGES

1. School Fees. Tuition and other school fees or as required by the curriculum

except for dormitory fee/rental;

2. Monthly stipend/ Monthly living allowance - upon submission of copy of

grades every end of the semester; PhP. 4,000.00

by the Municipal Agricultural Officer (MAO) or the BFAR regional office in

his/her area.
