HOW IT ALL STARTEDIt started with an itch. Scratchy, itchy, sensitive skin. A look around our local pharmacy at skin care for problem skin highlighted a gap in the market - a range of natural skin care that actually worked.

We were also conscious of the growing demand for natural products and so began a 3 year labour of love – to not only find natural ingredients proven to help the skin, but to ensure that the results were as good if not better than other synthetic brands on the market. Hey presto! - The fruits of our labour can now be found in the simple white DermaLab bottles.

When we say natural we mean natural.

We balance the best between nature and science to ensure our products work. We use natural ingredients at active levels (amounts that will actually benefit your skin). Like you, we only want to use ingredients to help your skin – so we’ve left out all the other nasties and only put in the stuff you need. When we say natural we mean natural.

Dry and sensitive skin? Naturally, we have the solution that works.

Some people can slap any old muck on their skin without flinching but most of us will experience problem skin at some point in our lives. Sensitivity can be caused by external irritants, allergies, diet or hormone imbalances.

IDENTIFY THE CAUSE:Common external irritants that cause flare ups or dry skin include parabens, SLS (found in most regular soap, shampoo and cleaning products), and heavily fragranced products. You can rest assured you won’t find these ingredients in our products.

MAINTAIN:The natural active ingredients in DermaLab create a barrier on the skin to keep good skin hydration in and irritants out and will also help maintain a healthy skin pH and normalise dry or oily skin. It’s so good you can use it on the whole family - everyday.

We spoke to a whole heap of people and found they wanted to avoid harmful skin care ingredients that made their skin red and irritable but many didn’t believe that ‘natural’ could deliver better results. We had a challenge and we knew we had our work cut out for us - but we were up for it.

To get the best from science and nature we consulted with natural skin care specialist Cheryl Ross an expert in natural active ingredients.

Once we got the perfect balance we tested our products on families and New Zealanders just like you.

Yep, we appreciate that what goes into our products ends up on your skin. So we went to extreme lengths and even pulled our hair out (ask Paul) to make sure we delivered a range of skin care that was loaded with functional ingredients that delivered benefits and were natural.

We’ve harnessed the beneficial properties of colloidal oatmeal, a key hero ingredient in most of our products. Colloidal oatmeal may help with dermatitis, burns, inflamed, itchy and sensitive skin.

However - be careful, not all skin care products with colloidal oatmeal are created equal. DermaLab contains active levels of colloidal oatmeal so you know your skin is getting an effective dose of the good stuff!

We also use other wonderful beneficial ingredients like New Zealand manuka honey, New Zealand harakeke flax, organic coconut oil, aloe vera, cucumber oil, bees wax, argan oil and goats milk to name a few.
