Willie source adds twoadditional sons, Isaac and Israel, not shown elsewhere. He married (1) Jane HOWES, married1750,3 b. in Isle of Wight Co. VA,4 (daughter of John HOWES and Jane DUNLAP), d. in SC.3

From Richard Wallace per Leroy Willie (see Mary Davies): Private in SCmilitia, served 92 days under Col. Ely Kershaw, served 40 days as a horsemanunder Gen. Sumter, and 92 days under Col. Marshall. Served militia duty undercommand of Brandons regiment before and after the fall of Charleston. Livedin Union Co. SC. Military records spelled the name variously: Robertson,Roberson, Robinson.

. He married Jane HEADEN, married 1780 in Spartanburg Co. SC,2 b. 1763 inVA,3 (daughter of William HEADEN and Jane _____), d. aft Aug 1850 in LA.3

Her sister Sarah married her husband's brother James "Horse Shoe" Robertson.According to Edna R. Vasher, she lived 1758-1824 (CMW82). Per RBW01, listed in1850 St. Tammany Pr. census as 87, born in VA, living with her daughter Sarah"Sally" Bennett (Leroy Willie source).

11 ii. James "Horseshoe" ROBERTSON b. Oct 1759 in NC, very near the VA border,5 d.26 Apr 1838 in Tuscaloosa Co. AL,6 buried in Robertsoncmty.,Romulus(Tuscaloosa)AL. Was brought to SC as infant. Enlisted inRevolutionary War at age 17. By end of war, believed to have commanded troop ofcavalry and called "captain". Lived in present Union and Spartanburg counties beforebeing given bounty land in present Oconee Co. Nickname resulted from operatingsmithy and/or living in bend of Chauga River in Oconee Co. He and son Davidmoved to Tuscaloosa AL in 1822. Subject of J.P.Kennedy novel "Horse ShoeRobinson" in 1835. Born in October. He married Sarah Morris HEADEN, married 4Jun 1782,7 b. 17 Jul 1763 in VA,4 (daughter of William HEADEN and Jane_____), d. 7 Jan 1838 in Tuscaloosa Co. AL, buried in Robertsoncmty.,Romulus(Tuscaloosa)AL.Her obituary (1-17-1838) said she had been a member of the Baptist church for 40years. See family of William Headon (nw SC, ne GA) for numerous siblings. Hersister Jane married her husband's brother David Robertson.

12 iii. Mathew ROBERTSON b. 1762,8 d. 1826 in Washington Pr. LA.9 An anonymousresearcher (#4807) to the World Family Tree data bank (Vol. II)shows this Mathew to be the son on David Robertson, s. of Israel Robinson(~1698/<1760 Granville NC), s. of Nicholas Robinson (~1665/>1718 Prince Geo.VA). "#4807 used the spelling "Matthew" rather than "Mathew". Thisquestions the ancestry of David,Jr. and James "Horse Shoe" as much as it doesthat of Mathew.#4807 shows Matthew's death as before 11 July 1827 in Washington LA.

ERV shows birth location as Amherst Co. VA (CMW82), but this is questionable.He is believed to have come to LA around 1803 (ERV shows 1920). ERV showsDODas 1844.

WFT02 (Eric Wall) shows birthdate for Mathew as 1742 and his death as 1826.Place of death is shown as Tangipahoa Pr. but this may well be an area that

changed names over time.

RBW02 (Leroy Willie) shows: b: 1752, married 1784, d. Sep 1926. Came to LA in1802. Recorded in St. Tammany Pr. Census of 1812 where he had a farm north ofAmite LA. Served 481 days during the Rev. War. He married Susan (Susannah)HOGAN, married 1784,10 b. 1762,10 d. 8 Oct 1846 in Washington LA.11

13 iv. Elijah ROBERTSON b. 1764,2 d. 1789. ERV shows birth location as Amherst Co.VA (CMW82). He is said to have been at the battle of Cowpens in the RevolutionaryWar but that is questionable. Several references say that Elijah died at Cowpens, butthat is inconsistent with date of death. He married Susanah NORRIS, married1785,12 b. ? in Farquire Co. VA.12

According to ERV(CMW82), Susannah, as a widow, drew land in the GA lottery of1832.
