This is the fist scene showing the car in which the main characters are in, with a family with them all driving through the woods. This shot here is a wide shot, and the car is moving in a slow pace which give the audience the impression that something might happen.

The third scene is showing a reverse shot to Sarah talking to her daughter about whats going to happen after the journey. This is a close up shot and this is also reverse shot of the conversation. This shot here shows the point of view of the daughter and maybe even a reflection of the family’s relationship, but as you can see the dad is not putting any effort.

The shot then goes to the husband with a close up shot showing his feelings in this shot. His face looks like his got something on his mind.

Time 0:09

This is a shot here where we seen an angle from Sarah daughters view, a shot of Sarah having a little argument with her husband with not getting involved.

Time 0:01

This is a scene where the two cars crash together this is because the driver who was sarah’s husband didn’t pay attention to the road because of the

argument.

Time : 0:01

This scene here is where the CGI starts to appear where we see the pipes go through the window. In the frame we can see no whiplashed husbands or

hands which proves this was created in post production.

Time :0:01

This is a CGI scene where the poles break through the windows with fast editing where it gives shock to audience and makes the movie very suspenseful in the first 10

minutes. This gives an impression that there are other horrible things are going to happen in the movie.

Time 0:01

With this shot here is a fast editing showing blood splat out the driver seat with a fake head and pole going right through the head. This shot here shows that it was a

brutal death in a second. This is also a view of the daughter before her death.

Time 0:20

This is a scene where the producers pan away the shot into a very wide shot in birds view of the crash.

Using a crane with the real poles and the blood o the daughter is leaking out of the back of the car. This is where the shot slows down to the show the audience hoe fasta car crash can really be. Another thing that the post production wanted to do was include more blood to make the scene more realistic.

This is the final scene where the scene is going black, and when it’s fully black it shows the title of the film which gives the audience the impression that its

only the start.

CGI

• CGI which stands for computer generated images where they edit movies and tv’s to create realistic images or scenes that is impossible to record. The special effects that CGI gives is leaving the sense of reality in a shocking way and the descent was a perfect example of this. The movie was edited CGI which effects most people who don’t understand the concept of CGI and how death scenes are made.

Transitions

• Transitions are used to do a quick change of a scene where it is not noticeable to the audience. The effect that this has is that it draws the audience to the next scene in a simple and effective change which doesn’t harm the film when it is done correctly and properly.

Editing

• Editing there are different forms which effect the pace with certain editing. Some can build suspense and excitement which can cover up the main problems of the movie for instance how the family on appears for several minutes where they instantly killed before having actually dialogue where it actually effects the script. The effect on editing is that it helps draw the audience in the movie and gain their attention of what is happening.
