    Computer ScienceComputer Science (abbreviated CS or Comp Sci) is the scientific and mathematical approach to

    computing, programming, and computation in correspondence with computer systems. This field

    of study utilizes theories on how computers work to design, test, and analyze concepts. Itencompasses the theoretical study ofalgorithms (including their design, efficiency and application)

    and the practical problems involved in implementing them in terms of computer software and

    hardware. Computer science usually has a stronger mathematical foundation than a scientific oneand on some occasions may not focus directly on computers and their systems.

    Computer science is composed of many broad disciplines, including artificial intelligence and software

    engineering. Additionally, Computer scientists study problems to determine if they can be computed,

    compare algorithms to decide on the best solution, create programming languages to express these

    algorithms, design and build computer systems to execute specifications from research, and apply

    algorithms to application domains, or sets of software systems that share design features.

    Educational TechnologyEducational technology is the use of technology to improve education. It is a systematic,iterativeprocess for designing instruction or training used to improve performance. Technology shouldfacilitate learning processes and increase performance of the educational system(s) as itregards to effectiveness and/or efficiency. Educational technology is often associated with andencompasses instructional theory it offers explicit guidelines and help to better help peoplelearn and develop; and learning theory the process that brings together cognitive, emotionaland environmental influences and experiences.

    Educational technology relies on the broad definition of the word technology. Technology can

    refer to the material objects of use to humanity such as machines, hardware, but it can alsoencompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization and techniques. Somemodern tools include but are not limited to overhead projectors, laptop computers andcalculators. Newer tools such as smartphones and games are beginning to draw seriousattention for their learning potential.

    Software Engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to thedesign, development, operation, and maintenance ofsoftware, and the study of theseapproaches; that is, the application ofengineering to software. It is the application ofengineering to software because it integrates significant mathematics, computer science andpractices whose origins are in engineering. It is also defined as a systematic approach to theanalysis, design, assessment, implementation, testing, maintenance and reengineering ofsoftware, that is, the application of engineering to software.Software Engineering has come to mean at least two different things in our industry. First of allthe term "software engineer" has generally replaced the term "programmer".     Information and Communication TechnologyICT is concerned with the storage, retrieval, manipulation, transmission or receipt of digital data. . Itis also concerned with the way these different uses can work with each other. There are two (2) mainaspects of ICT. Firstly there are the traditional computer-based technologies (things you can typicallydo on a personal computer or using computers at home or at work) and secondly there is the morerecent, and fast-growing range of digital communication technologies (which allow people andorganizations to communicate and share information digitally).

    The main aim of ICT in education is the implementation of ICT equipment and tools(application packages, video conferencing, networks, satellite links etc.), in theteaching and learning process. The purpose of ICT in education is generally tofamiliarize students with the use and workings of computers and the related socialand ethical issues. ICT has also enabled learning through multiple intelligences as ICThas introduced learning through simulation games; this enables active learningthrough all senses.

    Information Technology - Definition and scope

    Information technology, as defined by the Information Technology Association ofAmerica (ITAA), is "the study, design, development, implementation, support ormanagement of computer-based information systems, particularly software applicationsand computer hardware."
