DAT process. Included with these meeting minutes is a copy of the slide presentation.

01/03 Info PROJECT TEAM:

MOA introduced the main team members for the project including the team from BVSD. Also introduced were the consultants for the project

01/04 Info MOA FIRM PROFILE:

MOA’s K-12 educational design experience was presented to the DAT. Previous projects included Southern Hills Middle School and Hinkley High School.

01/05 Info DAT RESPONSIBILITIES/PARTICIPATION: Responsibilities and participation in the DAT process were discussed. BVSD Design Advisory Guidelines were provided.

01/06 Info DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION PHASES:

Design and Construction Phases were briefly discussed. More information can be found in the BVSD design Advisory Guidelines.

01/07 Info PROJECT GUIDELINES: The project guidelines on the overall bond program from BVSD were presented

and shown to the DAT. This information was from the Educational Facilities Master Plan and is included with these meeting minutes. MUOF and IT upgrades are underway or have been completed. This phase of construction will include items from the Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) and Program Compatibility Assessment (PCA).

01/08 Info PROJECT GOALS AND VISION: MOA then turned the discussion over to the DAT members to express their goals

and vision for this project. Those comments and visions are as follows: Environment – capture the “amazing environment”, bring more light and fresh air

into the building, utilize sustainable building practices, relate to the mountains and context of the area and town, connect to the outdoors

Counseling – bring multiple functions that are now interspersed throughout the

school together in one location including the interventionist and social workers, provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, provide better access for parents

Maximize usage of space – increase storage Safety – create a more securable entrance to the school with controlled access,

maintain an environment that accounts for a sometimes harsh environment State of the Art – create a second IT closet to create better data performance,

create spaces that will not become “out dated”, install a paging/intercom/voice over internet protocol (VOIP) system, provide a science room that can accommodate advanced and AP chemistry cirriculum

HVAC Upgrades – eliminate hot and cold rooms Room Numbering – provide one cohesive interior numbering system with interior

signage 01/09 Info PROJECT SCHEDULE: MOA presented the proposed project schedule with approximately five DAT

meetings. Construction Phasing will be considered, but may not be necessary. Additional DAT meetings may be scheduled for review of progress during schematic design, design development and construction document phases. It was decided to move meetings to Tuesdays so that more members could attend. A revised schedule is attached to these meeting minutes.
