The humidor is a simple yet elegant desktop model that will hold about

50 cigars. It is approximately 10″ W x 13 L x 5.5″ D as shown, but it

would be easy to modify the size. The box is made from veneered

Spanish Cedar and features inlaid solid strips to protect the veneer and

make the box more durable. An inner Spanish Cedar liner, a humidifier,

and a hygrometer will help regulate humidity inside the box, a key

element to storing cigars.

Not a cigar smoker? No problem! You can skip the interior liner and

make a beautiful jewelry box, tea box, or something else.

(3) The bottom of the case should be a stable sheet good to prevent movement due to internal moisture. For simplicity we specified MDF for

the bottom. A high quality plywood would be more moisture resistant if you have it available.

(1) The outer box is constructed as one unit, then the lid is sawn off. Dimensions listed are for the lid and bottom combined before the lid is

cut off. Width of parts (A) and (B) listed at 5 5/8" to allow for 1/8" saw kerf. Final height of the humidor will be 5 1/2".

(2) For best grain matching, all four sides of the outer box (A) and (B) will be veneered in one long strip, then cut apart. A strip of veneer at

least 5 3/4" by 45 3/4" would be needed, plus the veneer for the top (C) and bottom (D).
