The conception of an idea begins with creativity and implementation. Getting an idea down on paper and out of one’s head can be the most difficult step in the creative process. Capturing the magic of one’s mind can be frustrating but with time and practice, sketching can become an escape.

Sketches take on many forms: rough sketches, thumbnails, mock ups, etc. Translating synapses into graphic elements is essential to any artistic process. Bad ideas deserve to be thought out just as much as good ideas. My advice for any artist, new or professional, is to sketch more.

Sketch daily from life to capture the beautiful forgotten moments as they whiz by. Take the time to hash out your creative energy. Create something, even if it is bad, you will have created something new.
