Figure 1: PAC45T Control Head

Introduction The PAC45T is installed with four control heads .

1 Control Head: Pilot. Copilot and Observers follow pilot’s configuration.

2 Control Heads: Pilot/Copilot. Pilot and copilot have independent control. Observers follow copilot configuration.

2 Control Heads: Pilot/Observer. Pilot and observer have independent control. Copilot follows pilot configuration.

3 Control Heads: Pilot/Copilot/Observer. All have independent control.

The major sections of this procedure are organized for the above configurations. All tests in a section must be performed in the appropriate configuration.

Configuration Independent All tests in this section apply to and can be performed with any control head configuration. For simplicity, it is recommended these tests are performed with a single control head.

Exception Handling

Fault Recovery

PASS: FAIL: Initials: GLL

1. Verify the UUT boots up successfully and in a reasonable amount of time (<10s). 2. Generate the following fault conditions on the hub and verify the UUT reboots successfully

when the fault condition is removed: i2c faults a. Short PIC_SDA to ground SPI faults (Replace R30 and R196 with 511 ohm) b. Short PIC_TCK to ground (PIC) c. Short PIC_TDO to ground (PIC) d. Remove R121 on the middle PCB (FPGA1) (replace with wire loop, then cut) e. Remove R80 on the middle PCB (FPGA0) f. Remove R208 on the middle PCB (DSP) g. Remove R193 on the middle PCB (Alerts) DSP fault h. Remove R27 on the middle PCB (DSP_ACK will not be generated)

3. Generate the following fault conditions on the hub and verify the UUT continues to operate without a reboot or other interruption:

Bluetooth fault a. Remove R198 on the middle PCB

Data Corruption

PASS: FAIL: Initials: EN

Comments:

1. Generate the following abnormal cases in the data stream from the control head to the hub

such that they repeat with every packet: a. Missing starting DLE b. Improper payload size c. Invalid Packet ID d. Invalid checksum e. Missing trailing DLE f. Missing trailing ETX

2. Verify hub does not respond to any of these conditions and verify control indications remain unchanged.

3. Repeat step one, except with the abnormal cases only replacing one packet at random. 4. Verify the hub operates normally with no glitches in behavior observed.

Power

CODEC Turn On Sequencing

PASS: FAIL: Initials: GLL

Comments:

To avoid conditions that may lead to unpredictably noisy CODEC operation, verify the following parameters. Most of these are in addition to those imposed by the TLV320AIC3104 datasheet. 1. Document CODEC supply turn on sequencing. 2. Verify IOVDD ramps up in less than 400µs (10%-90%). 3. Verify AVDD/DRVDD ramps up in less than 400µs (10%-90%). 4. Verify DRVDD ramps up in less than 150µs (10%-90%). 5. Verify IOVDD ramps up first followed by AVDD/DRVDD and then DVDD. 6. Verify the delay between AVDD/DRVDD and DVDD does not exceed 5ms. 7. Ideally, the delay between each supply ramp up should be on the order of 600µs - 1ms. 8. Repeat for all CODEC groupings. Three groups on Bottom PCB, one group on middle PCB.
