THE WATERPROOFING PROCESS
1. ANALYSIS & IDENTIFICATION
Project requirements identified and defined in order to provide the most suitable waterproofing options.
There is no one product that fits all scenarios, so Newton have hundreds to choose from. Our expert team will combine these in order to provide a waterproofing solution that delivers the required internal environment for your project and conforms to the Type A, Type B and Type C definitions outlined by British Standard 8102:2009.
Our solutions will conform to the specific requirements of the current British Standard for Waterproofing and the requirements of the main UK warranty providers.
2. APPLICATION OF THE DESIGN
Newton’s Technical Team of qualified waterproofing designers have almost 200 years of combined industry experience. This expertise is available to advise on the waterproofing design requirements at all project stages.
British Standard 8102:2009 recommends that a ‘Waterproofing Design Specialist’ be included in the design team from an early stage to create an integrated waterproofing solution from the outset of the project.
Newton’s Waterproofing Index and Solution Sheets ensure that value is achieved whilst maintaining a robust design and providing a complete waterproofing specification.

3. MANUFACTURE & SUPPLY
Newton is a completely independent supplier, meaning that we can source the most relevant products for our customers and form exclusive partnerships with manufacturers in order to provide their products to the UK market.
Our supply chain manufactures products to the highest standards, and our principle products hold BBA or BDA Agrément Certificates and extensive third-party test data.
Newton also operates a fleet of FORS accredited vehicles to provide free, next-day deliveries to projects throughout London, the Home Counties and the South East.
4. PRICING & INSTALLATION
In order to ensure competitive tendering and a high quality installation, Newton operates a nationwide network of approved, specialist waterproofing contractors.
The Newton Specialist Basement Contractors have all been financially audited and technically trained to deliver the highest standards of professional installation.
Specialist installation is key to waterproofing systems fulfilling their design function. The NSBC network has been operating for over 20 years, and Newton have never had a claim on our waterproofing or a waterproofing failure where our products were correctly used and installed.
5. SITE SUPPORT SERVICES
The Newton Site Support Team possess extensive experience in installing all forms of waterproofing, and provide a comprehensive quality assurance service.
Depending on project requirements we can deliver on-site training, supervision, and/or installation inspections in order to monitor the waterproofing and provide updates to you and to all relevant parties throughout the contract.
Using our bespoke Newton Site Reporting App we can observe, document and report on the status and condition of on-site installations of all Newton waterproofing systems. On completion of the site visit, a secure digital report is automatically generated and submitted to all relevant individuals and companies involved.
6. GUARANTEES, WARRANTIES & INSURANCE
All Newton products carry product-only warranties that provide for a replacement only if the product is defective.
NSBC members are required to provide high-quality, insurance-backed installation guarantees that protect the client from potential issues in design and installation. Most NSBCs also carry Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance, allowing them to take full waterproofing design liability.
Newton can facilitate A-rated, single-point Insurance Backed Guarantees and Latent Defects Insurance that provide complete protection for the client, specifier and main contractor in the event that the installing contractor cannot honour their guarantee due to ceasing to trade.
7. SUSTAINABILITY & RECYCLING
Newton are sustainability leaders within the UK waterproofing industry. Initiatives include:
• A traceable recycling service for waste product and plastic packaging - over 4.5 tonnes recycled annually

A complete and continuous waterproof barrier to the external surface of any below ground structure.
Includes the flexible, easy-to-apply Newton 108 HydroBond-LM and Newton 109-LM liquid membranes, and the self-healing Newton 403 HydroBond sheet membrane.

Includes liquid-applied membranes such as the highly adhesive and durable Newton 103-S, and the flexible and easy-to-apply Newton 107F.

TYPE BHYDROTANK
Ensures that your below-ground structure is the primary form of resistance against water ingress.
Includes a range of waterproof injection resins, sealing systems for cable, pipe and line entries, a patented system for sealing tie-bolt holes, and a choice of swellable or injectable waterbars.
Newton 315 Polymer-Waterbar is supported by Kiwa Certificate BCAC-17-002 and is accepted by the NHBC as a Type B waterproofing system to BS 8102:2009.
Nothing provides better resistance to water than a well designed and well placed reinforced concrete structure, designed to BS EN 1992 with sufficient steel reinforcement to limit flexural and sectional cracking and producing watertight concrete.
Newton HydroTank seals the gaps in the concrete, delivering a watertight Type B structure.

TYPE CCDM SYSTEM
A maintainable waterproofing solution ideal for both new-build basements and refurbishment projects.
Usually suggested when a completely dry internal environmental is required, comprising of a range of cavity drain membranes, pump configurations, backup systems, telemetry and ancillary options.

To supply our products in the Qatar market, Newton Waterproofing Systems has partnered with CMT Group, who have been manufacturing and supplying construction products to support Qatar’s major growth industries since 1999.
Based in Doha, CMT Group already manufactures glass-reinforced concrete, plastic and gypsum, as well as building materials, chemicals and other construction solutions.
Products are made at the company’s five manufacturing plants across four facilities, with over 1,250 employees in total, and a distribution network across the GCC area.
Their production team consists of engineers, supervisors and technicians with a lifetime of manufacturing knowledge and experience.
