Vernacular Architecture is a term used to categorise methods of
construction which use locally available resources and traditions to
address local needs.
Vernacular architecture tends to evolve over time to reflect the
environmental, cultural and historical context in which it exists. It has
often been dismissed as crude and unrefined, but also has proponents who
highlight its importance in current design.

Forts and Palaces of Rajasthan can be an inspiration for an
architecture lover.

which strike our mind, are Jantar Mantar, Dilwara Temples,Chittorgarh Fort, Lake Palace Hotel, City Palaces, and Jaisalmer
Havelis.
The vast area of Rajasthan is dotted with the most imposing and
magnificent forts and palaces in the world. The Rajputs were

Incorporating the products of the village
potter into the structurefor climatic control
is also reflective of the sensibility to
promote inclusion of local skills and materials
into new constructions.
The use of the central
ventilation shaft to keep the
building naturally cool in the hot
climate is also a praiseworthy
detail.
