    In this project we have shown that how we detect illegal use ofelectricity with the help of implementation of the additional circuit. The

    new circuit is imposed inside the energy meter so that if the illegal

    load is connected it will trip down the circuit supply by the use of

    microcontroller. As the energy consumption and energy distribution

    has become a big subject for discussion because of huge energypilferage. Hence the need has come to think in this line and a solution

    has to be emerged out. Thus this project work has been taken up

    which serves the purpose of energy monitoring so that the energy

    theft can be stopped, thereby huge penalties can be imposed on

    energy thieves. By detecting the energy theft cases, people or electricconsumers will become alert and thereby the energy theft can also be

    prevented. Data is to be transmitted to the microcontroller and this will

    give signal to the the relay and this will decide whether the circuit has

    to be tripped off or on by the use of circuit breaker.

    We are trying to protect our energy meter from theft forthis we develop an advance meter which include amicrocontroller circuit along with relay.

    Relay is connected to the pin no. 24 of microcontroller.

    Pin no.1 of microcontroller 89S52 is connected to 220 Vac supply from input side of energy meter.

    This method of detection of illegal use of electricity have

    wide scope in future life. In practical relay circuit will be

    employed on pole and the microcontroller circuit and LCD

    display will be assembled with in the energy meter. Now

    our main concentration is to simulate this circuit on

    microscopic level so that the whole circuit can be

    assembled within the energy meter. Also we are trying to

    use this concept to stop the power theft from feeder. So

    this model has a bright future in upcoming life

    This project is working properly. We

    can detect the illegal use of electricity .

    We can easily stop the illegal use byimplementation of this model in which

    the desired circuit is being implemented

    which has a microcontroller unit . TheLCD is used to indicates the meter

    tempering or not.
