Determination

Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School aims to develop

itself into a pioneer of prototypical schooling in term of instruction, demonstration of new

practices, experimentation, research and promotion of primary education management. All of

these will be delivered to the highest level of quality. In addition to this, we will naturalize and

develop our students with the moral virtue of discipline, sportsmanship, self-sacrifice for the

majority and we will guide the way to make their lives prosperous and fulfilling.

School History

Universities are the foundations of the intelligence, inspiration and the knowledge of people in

society. A society can develop and prosper only if its people possess these qualities. Inventors,

researchers and business leaders are just a portion of our society deemed by others to have a

wealth of knowledge and the necessary qualities to succeed. These people gain the foundation

of their knowledge at university so you see that universities are a reflection of society; a weak

university means a weak system and vice versa. Both are dependent upon each other for

success. The Laboratory and Demonstration School is prototypical in educational research and

development and offers an environment where the methodology learnt is put into practice. This

is a true role model of a prototypical educational institution and is considered a pioneer in

conceptual education within Thailand’s society.

During the period of Thailand’ major revolution in education system, Prasarnmit College of

Education was the birthplace of a modern education system in Thailand. Based on the education

ideology of Prasarnmit College of Education, the school was established in 1952. The time-

line of the school are as follows.

July 3 1952 The school was established under the name of Prasarnmit School.

January 1, 1954 The school was named Prasarnmit College of Education Demonstration

Secondary School

1965 Five new buildings were inaugurated. (two buildings for classrooms,

two buildings for laboratory and one building for office administration)

January 31, 1966 The School was the first school in Thailand for coeducation.

January 15, 1974 The school’s name was changed to Srinakharinwirot University

Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School

November 12, 2001 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously

presided over the inauguration of Wittayawirote building

2010 The school opened Satit Prasarnmit International Program (SPIP),

SPIP program is accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education (MOE)

recognizing SPIP diploma as equivalent to the Thai secondary school

certificate and SPIP is able to conduct Cambridge IGCSE and A level

examinations and Cambridge Checkpoint tests.

2011 The School launched the Prototype center project aimed at developing

the potential of children with special needs.

2012 Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously

presided over the inauguration of new building called His Majesty the

King's 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5th December 2007 and Center for

special needs children called Sagayawirote Center

Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School has produced

numerous high caliber graduates with leadership qualities, intelligence, potential, decency and

the will to sacrifice for society. Being responsible for Thai society and the main careers is

comprised of, the school operates its system based on;

With all the elements that Srinakharinwirot University and Srinakharinwirot University

Prasarnmit Demonstration School have to offer, including providing teachers of the highest

caliber, support from its alumni, learning materials, technology, a caring and nurturing

environment, society can rest assured that this school will be able to produce quality graduates

who will live in and be a contributing member of a democratic society. They will exist to help

formulate society and their lives which in turn will create a beautiful and harmonious

civilization for the future.

Besides the wealth of knowledge, development of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences is also

important, its Linguistic, Logical and Mathematical, Visual and Spatial, Bodily and

Kinesthetic, Musical, Interpersonal, Naturalist or Intrapersonal; all of which play a part in an

individual’s leadership development.

Simultaneously, the school encourages students to strengthen their interdisciplinary skills to

prepare themselves for higher education facilities through subjects such as Science,

Mathematics, French, Hotel Management, Visual Arts, Musical Performance, Performing Art,

Physical education and Design.

The school and society are helping to create this dream together. The ultimate dream is to raise

the school and Thai society to new height. Srinakharinwirot University and every

demonstration school affiliated to Srinakharinwirot University aim to be the best laboratory

and pilot plant for pioneering and prototypical education and to help create a democratic society

that is second to none.

With 65 years’ experience, Prasarnmit Demonstration School is an institution that is

representative of the word “quality”. The School operates within the education faculty of

Srinakharinwirot University. It is an institution that moulds good management techniques by

the administrators with sound educational approaches by all the teachers in order to train the

students to be knowledgeable in all aspects and to be expert in technology. The teachers plan

the curriculum, develop a range of teaching methods and assess the results. The teachers

develop young people to be perfect both physically and mentally, to be able to solve problems,

to possess potential in self-development, to be of good character and to be able to use new

technologies in order to communicate well. The teachers train the students to become expert,

skilled in managing, to love learning by themselves, to be skilled in communication, to be able

to work well with each other, to be fair, to have morality, to promote culture, to conserve the

Thai lifestyle and to be able to live with others happily.

The school provides methodology that encourages students to develop academic skills

The school curriculum is structured to conform to the 1999 National Education Act and its

2010 3rd issue amendment. In addition, Dr.Howard Gardner’s theory of developing the 5

aspects of the brain is taken into account.

Special Project - 2 + 1 Educational program project. That is comprised of studying in Thailand for 2 years and

1 year studying abroad for their senior high school.

-Smart Science Classroom for Junior high school.

The Level of Students in the School

Currently, Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School offers both Thai curriculum and international curriculum for students in grades 7 to 12. There are about 2,300 students together with 160 teachers. The followings are the identity of our students.

Graduates of Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School can pass

the entrance examination to the famous university in Thailand. The following are the statistics

of Major of Science students’ achievement in the national entrance exam for academic year

2016. This statistics based on the total of 110 students who can pass the national examination

to the high competitive faculties as shown in the bellowed figure.

From 1952, approximately 20,000 students have been graduated from Srinakharinwirot

University Prasarnmit Demonstration Secondary School. Nowaday, they are playing important

role in many careers in Thailand.
