Safe Routes to School

Secured HUD approval to modify NSP2 to include the target areas of Cody, Osborn, and Denby to address demolition needs.

Operation Safe Passage

Experienced positive results by the use of restorative practices as an alternative to school suspensions and expulsions at Osborn (14) as compared to Denby (691) and Cody (676).

Summer Strategy

Expanded on the efforts of the Detroit Workforce Development Department and the Skillman Foundation to provide summer employment, life skills and work readiness training, and safe spaces.

Ceasefire Researched Ceasefire models , consulted with experts, and established a gang database in preparation for implementation.

Strategic Priorities

Increase Detroit Public Schools participation.

Establish evaluation framework and performance goals.

Align city services (i.e. lighting, buses, blight) with program initiatives.

Develop a civic and parent engament strategies.

Map a seamless referral process for YVP initiatives.
