Introduction
Overview of the Project Proposal
TITLE OF THE PROPOSAL:
“TAYMPERS: Managing your time effectively”
The title itself speaks for the main goal of this campaign which is to teach the
participants some specific ways on managing their time effectively. Aside from that, it is also a catchy
title and it would help generate attention from possible participants.
LOCATION:
Our selected location is Montalban Heights National High School in Brgy. San Jose,
Rodriguez, Rizal.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
The target audience are 3rd year high school students.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION DATE:
February 18, 21, and 28, 2014, from 9:00am to 12:00nn
OVERVIEW OF THE LEARNING PLAN:
Time management is the process of planning and exercising conscious control over the
amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency or
productivity. Simply, time management is a way to balance rest, work and leisure. Managing time plays
a vital role in our lives, especially to students. Time is really an important resource and like other kinds
of resources, it should be spent wisely. This particular topic has been chosen because it is an issue that
almost everyone encounters in their everyday lives. Although it is a common problem, time
management problems greatly affect students more than any other persons. So as early as possible,
they should be able learn how to manage their time effectively.
This campaign aims to teach the students specific ways how to manage time effectively. The target
audience would be students from the 3rd year level. The campaign, having a span of three days would
focus on teaching the students specific ways and steps on managing their time properly. It would also
involve activities related in time management and also, it would teach them the value of proper time
management.
Overview of the Study
Time is very important, you can never buy it, redeem it, so don’t waste it. We all know that time
is priceless, once you lost it you can never take it back, according to the site www.studyandexam.com “a
very single moment which passed once will never come back to be availed” so as long as you still have
time you should learn how to manage it efficiently.
Based on the site www.wikipedia.org “time management” is the act or process of planning and
exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase
effectiveness, efficiency or productivity. Now, in our busy generation, even students at their very young
age needs to learn how to manage their time in an effective, efficient and productive way. When you
are still on elementary, things are not that complicated but when you are already on high school there
are additional things you need to consider, heavy school activities, puberty stage, preparation for
college when you are on the last months of being a high school and so on; indeed, high school student
have a very hectic schedule. According to Claire Huang, the Salutatorian of South Ville Milestone
International School and Colleges, “I was a very busy student when I was in high school because I joined
many organizations, and each had their activities”. Time management for students is a really important
part of taking personal responsibility for education, for some reason, some students doesn’t pay
attention with the way how they spend their time. Students nowadays have many hindrances in
managing their time well; it can be habitual and persistent procrastination, perfectionism videogame
addiction and many more. If students don’t use their time well, then there is a big chance that they will
miss many of the opportunities ahead them, what’s even worse is when they encounter the “greatest
regret” of their lives because of wasting their time. Pastor Rick Warren of Oneplace.com once said “we
have to really think about how we use our time, because it’s so precious and it’s so brief” He also quoted
that “If you use time the best you have ever used it, then this will be the best year you’ve ever had. And if
you keep using time wisely for the rest of your life then you will do more, live better and fulfill your God-
given destiny”. The researchers in this campaign have a goal to help the 3rd year students of Montalban
Heights National High School who has a problem with managing their time. The researcher first
conducted a pre-assessment so that the researchers can determine which of those 3rd year students
can be a possible participant. The researchers of this campaign chose 3rd year students to be the
participants whom the researchers will help them in terms of managing their time in their busy high
school life, to use their time in an effective, efficient and productive way and to be prepared with the
more hectic schedule in their 4th year life to be faced after a few months as well. According to the site
rethingkingthetruth.com “Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t
keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” So managing your time is not
a waste of time, it’s probably very important especially to students who is starting founding and
directing their steps for their bright future.

Sampling
The sampling method used in this campaign was convenience sampling. Convenience sampling
is a non-probability sampling technique where subjects are selected because of their convenient
accessibility and proximity to the researcher. Fourth year students were the first choice of the
researchers to be the respondents of the campaign because of certain reasons. Unfortunately there was
an order in the school that the said students will not participate in any seminars, programs, campaigns,
etc. that are not related to their academics; so the researchers chose the third year students instead to
be their respondents.
Research Instrument
The researchers used a close ended survey as a pre-assessment tool. This means that the
answers are provided and controlled by the researchers. The survey is consists of 26 questions designed
to measure the respondents capability to manage their time. The respondents were asked to rate
themselves between 2, 1 and 0 in all the items. 2 represent “always”, 1 for “sometimes”, and 0 for
“never”. Below is a copy of the pre-assessment survey.

Data Analysis
In the post assessment, the researchers still used a three-part survey which aims to measure the
changes in the students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The first part measures the level of awareness
that they had after the campaign and is close-ended survey. The second deals with their skills and the
third one aims to know how they value the topic that was discussed. The second part is also a close-
ended survey while the third one is an open-ended survey. Below is a copy of the post assessment

Scores
Results of Pre-assessment
As seen from the above figures, 51.38% of the total number of the respondents, which
corresponds to 122 respondents, was below the 31-37 point range which is the benchmark score. This
simply implies the need for the proposed campaign of the group. But only those respondents scoring 24
and below were chosen to be the target audience because they were the ones that immediately need
the help that the campaign might offer. Those in the 24-0 point range lack the knowledge and the skills
in managing their time effectively.
Post assessment
On the post assessment only 14 participants were able to answer the post assessment surveys.
The remaining half weren’t able to come to the post assessment day which was held on the last day of
our campaign.

Maybe/ Unsure – 1 student
Majority of the participants think that they were able to handle their time more effectively after taking part in the campaign.
Part III
1. How important is time management for you now?
Very Important – 14 students Value time – 9 students To accomplishments of tasks effectively and efficiently – 3 Solution to poor time management and busy schedules – 2
The participants were able to recognize the value of effective time management. They were
also able to express their own views about how important it is.
2. What do you think is the importance of effective time management?
Save and value time – 6 students
Accomplish tasks and be more productive – 4 students
Setting priorities straight – 2 students
Maximizing time – 2 students
The majority of the students learned how to value and save time and accomplish tasks and be more productive. However, they have different reasons concerning the importance of effective time management.
Findings
o The participants, after taking part in the campaign generally had increased awareness about
effective time management.
o Using the knowledge that they obtained, majority of the participants were able to carry out the
steps towards effective time management.
o Majority of the student participants were able to recognize and argue the importance of
effective time management
Chapter V
Conclusion
Findings:
Pre-assessment
In conclusion, majority of the third year students of Montalban Heights National High School
lacks knowledge and skills towards effective time management; also, the majority of the chosen
audience came from the pilot section and finally; and finally, the majority of the student participants do
not know the ways to manage their time effectively.
Post assessment
In conclusion, majority of the participants have increased awareness on effective time
management; and the reason why majority of the target audience were from the pilot section is because
they have more activities compared to students from the lower sections. Also, majority of the chosen
audience were able to manage their time more effectively and were able to argue the importance of
effective time management.
Based on our findings the chosen audiences were:
o Able to increase their knowledge of effective time management.
o Able to carry out the steps of effective time management
o Able to argue the importance of effective time management
Chapter VI
Recommendation
For future researchers and further study regarding the campaign, the researchers recommend a
larger number of audiences to be subjected to the study. The researchers also recommend in finding
people who are willing to help and take part in the campaign. Furthermore, the researchers recommend
that the teachers and parents should encourage the students to manage their time effectively and
participate in activities concerning it.
