Pressure data were quite scattered and “noisy” – probably as a function ofwellbore hydrodynamics and/or phase redistribution. Leak-off type appearedto be “normal” – i.e. natural fracture behaviour was not apparent. Derivativedata presented a negative unit slope (−1) suggesting that pseudo-radial flowhad been achieved.

Surface pressure fall-off data exhibited three (3) distinct anomalies: a 730 kPa pressure shift immediately after shut-in (a “hammer effect”) was followed 5 hlater by a break in pressure decline, and a subsequent shift in fall-off trend. Bottomhole pressure calculations assumed a static oil column to MPP. Pressurefall-off data were analyzed in terms of ∆t to remove injection (flow) rate & time errors.

Pressure derivative patterns beyond the anomalies appeared radial in nature such that a Vertical model was employed for analysis Quantitative results werePressure derivative patterns, beyond the anomalies, appeared radial in nature such that a Vertical model was employed for analysis. Quantitative results wereindicative of fair permeability to oil (ko) and a slightly improved near wellbore region (negative skin, sd) consistent with the brief mini-frac’ treatment. Naturalfracture or dual-permeability behaviour could not be definitively interpreted from the data. Usually manifesting as parallel slopes on the semi-log plot, and adouble-hump on the derivative plot, perhaps the fall-off was of insufficient duration for the derivative (which was declining) to return…
