Flor: What did you do the last weekend?, I knew you traveled. Alfredo: Yes, I did, I traveled to Arequipa, to the Caylloma province. And I saw something that I haven’t known. Flor: That´s great. What's happened? Alfredo : There, I saw the horses are used as beasts of burden. Flor: Well. Alfredo: I only knew that used them in the hippodrome, riding or Equitation. Flor: Really?, You know that in the Colonial times, there were others animals that helped in the economic activities. For example the Llama carry a lot of things. Alfredo: Why is it special? Flor: First, they have to take a lot of luggages in their backs. Where there isn´t road. Mainly the male llamas help us with our luggage. In colonial times, they took mercury from Santa Barbara´s mine in Huancavelica towards others mines. Alfredo: As Horses, pack animals provide important mobility in hilly areas. Where do they live?
