DigiCOPY’s Oversize SolutionsThe Oce Arizona 318 flatbed printer has been installed at the DigiCOPY Eau Claire location, serving customers throughout Wisconsin and adding to the wide array of oversize printing

Wow, do I love the American Ninja Warrior show!

Hundreds of “warriors” navigate through a variety of obstacles designed to test the athletes’ ingenuity, endurance, strength and balance. For me, it’s an edge of your seat, emotional roller coaster. Why is it so compelling? Here’s my take.

Many of the competitors are not full-time athletes. They have careers outside this challenge. They fit their training and competition into their lives. That reflects true passion for their pursuit, and discipline worthy of respect. What the odds say will be defeat, they stare in the eye and press on. In doing so they redefine defeat in result to mean success through pursuit of something they care about. These warriors face these obstacles knowing that the odds are against them, and they say “I’m in.” They’re inspirational.

I think there’s one more wonderful aspect to the show, perhaps the best part. What I always notice that warms my heart is the way the contestants support each other, even as they compete with one another. When one competitor completes all the obstacles, the rest cheer and congratulate them. When a competitor loses their grip or misses their mark, the rest seem to

genuinely feel bad for that person. There is genuine empathy, encouragement, hope and happiness among all the competitors for each competitor.

And that’s why I enjoy seeing the men and women who participate on American Ninja Warrior behave so admirably. They demonstrate the attributes of working very hard and doing your best to succeed and respecting and acknowledging that others are doing the same and are worthy of respect and consideration.

They demonstrate having and expressing empathy. They model that it’s good to want anyone pursuing a legitimate end in a good faith manner to do well. They display security and confidence in themselves without belittling or disrespecting others.

DigiCOPY was a proud sponsor of the 2018 Team Schierl Companies annual charity Golf Classic on June 20, 2018 at the Stevens Point Country Club. The sold-out event raised a record-breaking $115,504 with the help of golfers & sponsors, and included former Green Bay Packers Jared Abbrederis, Bill Ferrario, Kevin Barry and Randy Wright.

Central Wisconsin charities including Jeremiah’s Crossing, Breast Cancer Family Foundation, Stevens Point Softball Association, and the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County benefited from the proceeds.

At DigiCOPY, we promise our Community:

Involvement Opportunity Quality

Dependability Charity

Re-Invest in Your CommunityThey recognize and celebrate another’s pursuit of an objective even when that person fails in achieving it, and perhaps especially when that person fails in achieving it. They see the good in others and genuinely want others to do well, too. They think and act with an “and” mindset rather than an “or,” “not” or “but” mindset.

When considered from that perspective, all these warriors are winners. And, there’s much to model in what we see from these men and women as they pursue their own dreams, and encourage others to pursue theirs.

Ask yourself:

Like these Ninja Warriors, do I recognize the performance and celebrate the success of others?

Do I conduct myself with honor and nobility when working with others, particularly in challenging situations that may be full of different viewpoints and perspectives?

How can I make sure I maintain an “and” mindset that fosters collaboration and contributions from others, rather than an “or,” “not” or “but” mindset.

Rollout of Updated Mission & VisionPromises to our co-workers, customers, community and vendors/suppliers are at the core of what we do at DigiCOPY. You can

read more about our mission of service on the back of this newsletter or at dcopy.net.

Following several meetings of our co-worker advisory group this spring, a new focus for our mission was approved and is now being implented. Our Mission, simply stated, is “TO SERVE” - not that we have forgotten the spirit of our previous mission - “To Build Relationships.” Building relationships with co-workers, customers,

community and vendors and suppliers will remain a key focus...a means to an end of SERVICE to all. We rival other digital printers in our desire to cherish those relationships inside and outside our store walls. Our continued success and growth can be attributed to the people and the communities we are part of. Our new mission is graphically represented below:

Recreation Can Be Therapeutic -By Diane Kelbel, Registered Dietitian and Certified Wellness Coach, Ascension Employer Solutions

Since 1984, the National Therapeutic Recreation Society has been celebrating National Therapeutic Recreation Week in July.

Recreation therapy is used to help patients and persons with disabilities, prescribed by medical professionals as treatment

interventions and usually facilitated by trained and certified individuals. Therapeutic recreation programs include the

involvement of sports, expressive arts, muscle relaxation techniques, or even hobbies like horticulture.

The goal of recreation therapy is to focus on improving or regaining physical strength,

emotional stability, and self-confidence. If you have a loved one, seek out this therapy.

Most people could also benefit from using the list of known therapies below to sustain

health.

Look at the list and see how many you could utilize or share with a loved one who is ill:

• Pet therapy - find an animal to pet or play with

• Horticulture therapy - sit or hike in nature, find a place to dig in the dirt and grow some vegetables or simply buy a

bouquet of flowers to enjoy

• Aquatic therapy - find a water source you enjoy, whether it is swimming, aerobics or simply floating on a raft

• Music therapy - seek out a summer concert, enjoy your favorite playlist or pick up an instrument

• Art therapy - search out local paint and pottery studios or simply pull out a piece of paper and draw

• Dance or movement therapy - crank up the tunes and move. You can even do this while cleaning the house

• Creative writing therapy - express yourself through words, design your own greeting cards

• Laughter therapy - find what brings a smile to your face or provokes a good belly laugh
