Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are excited as we embark on the 20th anniversary of Leadership New Mexico! Gather your classmates and celebrate with us throughout the year at our upcoming events. We are eager to kick-off our programs and bring a new group of outstanding leaders into the Leadership New Mexico family.
The 20th Core Program kicked-off with its orientation and retreat in Santa Fe on September 17. The 2015-2016 Core Class is once again a group of impressive individuals from around the state who will no doubt challenge previous LNM Core classes as the “best class ever!”
The 2015-2016 Connect New Mexico Program launched its first session in Los Alamos on September 23. We are privileged to gather together outstanding young leaders from around the state to help prepare them for the leadership roles they will assume as their careers and leadership responsibilities progress.
The Local Government Leadership Program launches in Santa Fe on February 25, 2016. We are already bringing together an
incredible group of local government leaders to participate in this valuable program. The deadline to apply to the program is December 4. We are looking forward to another great group of local government leaders!
Rally your fellow classmates and don’t miss our special alumni events and tours as we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year! Join us for a night of great music at Spencer Theater, which is hosting “The La Bamba Show” on Saturday, October 24 in Ruidoso. The Winter Issues Update in Santa Fe begins Thursday, January 14, 2016 with a reception, followed by the update on Friday, January 15, 2016. More information and registration forms for both events are included in this newsletter. Stay tuned for other exclusive alumni events throughout the year.
We encourage Leadership New Mexico alumni to become a dues paying or Lifetime Member of Leadership New Mexico. With your dues membership, you may attend all of our events, tours and programs throughout the year. Joining the current 152 Lifetime Members means you will receive other benefits in addition to alumni benefits. Please refer to the Lifetime Member Benefits section for more details.
I am honored to be Chairman of this great organization. Leadership New Mexico is successful because of the remarkable contributions of so many people involved in the organization. All of us at Leadership New Mexico thank you for your investment of time and resources that continue to contribute to Leadership New Mexico’s success and help foster and support our states’ leaders. It would not be possible without great alumni and friends like you.

The Leadership New Mexico Alumni Program began in September, 2001. In the 20 Core Program, 13 Local Government Leadership Program, and 9 Connect New Mexico Program classes, over 1,300 participants from 82 communities have explored issues facing our state.
The goal of the Alumni Program is to further the education and challenge the thinking and perspectives of graduates in a meaningful and dynamic way. In addition, by interacting with graduates from other classes, alumni continue to be exposed to a diversity of education, experiences and regional perspectives, as well as to foster the professional and personal relationships that are one of the greatest assets of Leadership New Mexico. As a graduate of Leadership New Mexico, you have the capability to be a powerful voice for change in New Mexico.

The 2014-2015 program year was another huge success! Thank you to all of our committee and board members who are unable to continue with us this program year. Endowment Fund
In 2009, Leadership New Mexico established an endowment fund.
The goal of the endowment fund is to generate a permanent source of income to offset administrative expenses, allowing us to focus our fundraising efforts exclusively on program expenses. The endowment fund also serves as a financial cushion against lean times and helps ensure that Leadership New Mexico’s mission will be sustained in perpetuity. Gifts to Leadership New Mexico’s endowment fund are fully tax-deductible.
If you would like to contribute to the endowment, you may purchase a Lifetime Membership, or make a tax-deductible contribution directly to Leadership New Mexico.
Currently, there are 152 Lifetime Members who have contributed to the endowment. It is not necessary to be a graduate of Leadership New Mexico to become a Lifetime Member.
