Dear Parents, The rides have been booked, stalls organised, enter-tainment engaged, sponsors signed up, volunteers allo-cated, security hired, lights and stage prepared and fireworks arranged. All we need now is for the weather to not be like today and the crowds to arrive for our bi-annual Twilight fete!

Term 4 is a busy term. It’s a time of many special events for students and teachers, the Twilight Fete be-ing just one of them. Teachers are busily putting the finishing touches to written student reports, outlining student achievements towards attaining their learning goals. At the same time teachers are preparing stu-dents for their next step in their learning journeys by having transition sessions into their 2019 learning spac-es. Class lists have been compiled for next year and these will become available on our state wide transi-tion day on Tuesday 11th December. Staff allocation is almost complete, we are currently waiting on an ap-pointment to replace Mrs Lia Richardson who was due to return from a family position. Many of you would know Lia as either a Foundation teacher or Year 3/4 teacher. Lia has been a successful applicant for a part-time administration position at Deakin University.

We wish Lia all the very best on her new career and thank her most sincerely for the time she spent at Wattle Park not only teaching our students but the ex-tra special care she gave them.

The following asthma information is relevant to all fam-ilies, as some students may experience their first asth-

Term 4 Chess Club - 17th October – 12th December-Wednesday lunch time Lego Club – 8th October – 17th December– Monday lunch time Enrolment forms at the office.

Uncollected wristbands purchased through Trybooking can be collected at the entrance gate, Banksia St. from 3p.m. on Fete Day

ma attack whilst at school and potentially thunderstorm asthma.

If your child is asthmatic, we need your doctor to complete an Asthma Care Plan. The plan should be updat-ed annually and provided to the office. If we do not have an Asthma Care Plan for your asthmatic child, or if it is more than 12 months old, please visit your doctor ASAP to complete a new plan and review your child’s medical needs. For more information, or to find the ready-to-complete and Updated Victorian Asthma Plan for your child, please see https://www.asthmaaustralia.org.au/vic/about-asthma/resources/victorian-action-plans

As we head into a very busy and often frenetic time of the year it is especially important to be vigilant re-garding your child’s safety. Safety on our roads of course and also cyber safety for our older students.

Just a few reminders- don’t forget that the swimming program commences on Thursday 6th December for all students, Foundation to Year 6. Classes need parent volunteers to walk with them to the pool for extra safe-ty, if you can spare a morning to walk with your child’s class please let the teacher know what day/s you are available. Some classrooms have sign-up lists outside their classroom door.

The Year 6 House leaders have organised a Junior School Sports Day on Thursday 29th November commenc-ing at 11:30a.m. Be sure to wear House colours- if you are not certain of your child’s house please contact the office and they can advise.

That’s if from me, I’ll see you all at the fete. The current weather forecast is to bring along an umbrella and a coat. It’s not the weather that makes a successful fete it is the ambience and spirit of the community, so it is certain to be a great event!

Warm Regards Gayle
