Multiplication War• Skill: Multiplication facts to 36

• Players: 2 to 4 players

• Supplies: 2 dice and counters (such as

M&Ms, Cheerios, beans,

pennies, etc.)

• Player 1 rolls the dice• All players multiply the two dice. The 1st

player to say aloud the correct answer collects one counter and becomes the next to roll the dice.

• If both players say the correct answer at the same time, then both players may pick up a counter.

• Players must give back a counter for any incorrect answer that is called out.

• After a set amount of time, the player with the most counters is the winner.

Subtracting from 12

Odd/even numbers• Players: 2 players• Materials: 2 dice of one color

• Player 1 rolls the dice. Player 2 flips over a playing card from the deck to determine whether the dice are added or subtracted.

• If the card is an odd number (Ace, 3, 5, 7, or 9) the numbers on all three dice are added together.

• If the card is an even number (2, 4, 6, or 8) the numbers on the two dice of the same color are added together. Then the number on the third dice is subtracted from the answer.

• The 1st player to say aloud the correct answer earns 1 point.

• Players alternate rolling the dice. 1 point must be subtracted for a wrong answer. First player to earn 18 points is the winner.

Stuck in the Mud• Skill: Addition

• Players: 2 to 4 players

• Materials: 5 dice

Paper and pencil for

scorekeeping

• Players can only add up dice that do NOT show a 2 or a 5. Twos and fives become “stuck in the mud”

• Player 1 rolls all 5 dice. • If any dice shows a 2 or a 5 those dice are set

aside and the remaining dice are added together.

• Those remaining dice are rolled and again if any 2s or 5s are rolled they are set aside and the remaining dice are added together.

• Continue this way until all your dice are “stuck in the mud” Write down your score, and pass all the dice on to the next player.

• After 5 rounds, players total up their scores. The one with the highest score wins.

• Players: 2 to 4 players

• Materials: 2 dice

Pencil and paper (for

scorekeeping)

• Player 1 rolls the dice, finds the sum, then rolls again if he or she wants to. The next sum is added to the first. The player can roll as often as s/he wants before passing the dice on to the next player. Player records his/her score.

However…• If a 1 comes up on any of the dice

before the player decides to stop rolling,

the player earns NO POINTS for that round, and the player loses his/her turn.

• If a 1 comes up on BOTH dice, the player loses his/her turn and ALL their points.

• The player who gets to 100 first is the winner.

• Player 1 rolls all three dice. S/he chooses to add any two of the dice and then multiply the sum by the third dice.

• Player 1 records his/her score and then passes the dice on to the next player.

• The winner is the player who gets to 100 first.

• Players should learn which 2 dice need to be added and then multiplied in order to gain the most points.

High Roller• Skill: Place Value Critical Thinking• Players: 2 to 4 players• Materials: 4 to 5 dice Pencil and paper to record numbers (Use 4 dice to create 4-digit numbers or 5 dice to create 5-digit numbers)

• Player 1 rolls all the dice and decides how to create the highest 4 or 5-digit number possible (depending on the number of dice used). Number is then recorded on paper.

• Player 2 does the same.

• Player with the largest number wins a point.

• Player who reaches 15 points first is the winner.

• Variation: Players may decide that the lowest number wins.
