Antique Appraisals with Mark Moran: June 3
Register for a time slot beginning May 1!
The Dickinson County Library will host an antiques
and collectibles appraisal event featuring author and
antiques expert Mark F. Moran of Iola, WI! Moran
bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years,
specializing in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine
art, and has been an active appraiser for 20 years.
On May 1 the library will begin to accept prepaid
registrations for time slots during the program. The
cost to register an item for appraisal is $15: one item
per time slot. Please call the library at 774-1218 to
register and for more information about materials
Mr. Moran will appraise.

Library’s Anime Club! Young adults in grades 6 and
up will meet to discuss their favorite anime and manga

Isle Royale Adventure with Loreen Niewenhuis
Monday, May 15, 6:30 PM @ Main Branch in Iron Mountain
Loreen Niewenhuis, author of A 1,000-Mile Great
Lakes Island Adventure, A 1,000-Mile Walk on the
Beach, and A 1,000-Mile Great Lakes Walk, will
present a program about her experiences hiking
around the Great Lakes and participating in the
moose count at Isle Royale. Full of fascinating
anecdotes and adventure, this program is one not to
miss! Sponsored by the Friends of the Dickinson
County Library.
Family Games Night Wednesday, May 17, 6 PM

Kids, teens, and families are invited to drop in any
time during the program to play our variety of board
and card games, or bring your own games! Invite a

Bookcycle: Literary Lilacs Thursday, May 18, 6 PM

Upcycle used books with Bookcycle: Literary Lilacs!
This series of craft recycling programs will challenge
you to salvage old books by using them to create
beautiful literary decorations. This month, roll pages
to make decorative bouquets that look like lilacs!
Books and craft materials will be available. Please

Claire Lilja Memorial
The Dickinson County Library is pleased to
announce the 2017 Claire A. Lilja Memorial Library
Fund selections. Established by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. A.R. Lilja, Miss Lilja’s memory is honored
while library patrons are provided with the latest
resources in the areas of nutrition, linguistics, basic
economics and preventative medicine. The following
titles will be on display May 8-14 at the Main Branch

Mission Statement - Dickinson County Library
The Dickinson County Library provides materials and ser-
vices to help residents of the county obtain the information
needed to achieve their personal, educational and professional
goals. The library will serve as an access point for patrons to
obtain interlibrary loan materials. Emphasis is placed on
providing materials and services that stimulate an interest in
reading and learning among children. Our goal is to provide
these services at a reasonable cost.
