ACCOMPLICE: A person who knowingly helps another in a crime or wrongdoing.
While the word accomplice is almost exclusively used in terms of something negative, ie; a crime, we like to think of ourselves at Curtain Call as accomplices to your enjoyment!
We spend hundreds of hours each year reading new plays, revisiting old ones and thinking about how to fit them together into an interesting season for you.
This play, Accomplice, nearly 30 years old, is one that we’ve toyed with for quite a while. With the help of author, Rupert Holmes, our director, Joel Fenster, has been able to update the material and make some other changes that we hope will enhance your enjoyment of this comic thriller. Our murder mystery series, as well as past productions of Deathtrap and many Agatha Christie plays have always been very popular, so we hope you’ll enjoy Accomplice as you have the others.
Now that the days have grown shorter and the trees have all but gone bare, we’re looking forward to our final two productions of 2018: Elf, the Musical, playing in The Kweskin Theatre, and A Merry Mulberry Street Musical, making its sixth appearance in the Dressing Room Theatre. These two, plus six more full-scale productions, murder mysteries, concerts and comedy nights are all on tap in the second half of our season through June. We hope you’ll be back for many of these events.
For now, good luck trying to figure out “whodunit” in this area premiere of Accomplice.
Lou Ursone

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST
ANN ALFORD (Assistant Director, Dialect Coach/Female Understudy) Ann is happy to be back at the DRT with her good friend Joel, acting as his assistant and general factotum–a word she has been waiting to use her whole life! Her most recent Curtain Call appearance was last winter on the Kweskin stage in Newsies. She has previously appeared on this stage as Linda in Delval Divas, Annie in Calendar Girls, Sister Helena in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Mrs. Northrup in When We Are Married. Offstage, she spent the last year as the President and Executive Producer for the Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk.
PAUL DEL GATTO (Male Understudy) Paul states that he is one Stamford-ite who likes working in “the city that works.” and is thrilled to be a part of this production. Mr. Del Gatto’s stage credits include Che in the Plaza Dinner Theater production of Evita, Osric in Wilkesbarre Rep’s modern dress Hamlet and Prince Charming in Cinderella Had a Daughter at New York City’s Little-Folks-on-Lexington summer theater. He has appeared in numerous daytime soaps, often as bartenders, interns, and even a male nurse. Accomplice marks his Stamford theatrical debut.
ROB HUNT: Rob Hunt is delighted to be returning to The Dressing Room Theater after a five-year hiatus. He strenuously denies rumors that his absence was due to a prolonged stay at the “big house,” but claims it was due to his terrible sense of direction. He would like to thank his wife, Kelly, and parole officer, Boris, for their active support of his acting endeavors.
CAROL SHWIDOCK: Carol Shwidock is truly excited and honored to be on the boards in the DRT. Favorite Shows:The Graduate (Mrs. Robinson) Steel Magnolias (Truvy) Brighton Beach Trilogy (Blanche) Rumors (Claire) Gypsy (Tessie) Rocky Horror (Magenta) La Cage (Jacqueline) Chicago (Liz). Carol thanks Joel, Lou, Regina and this incredible cast for allowing her to be their Accomplice…It’s been way too long! You can find Carol offstage at harmonyogastudio.com. Namaste.
BILL WARNCKE: Bill is happy to be returning to the Curtain Call stage, and for getting the chance to team up with one of his favorite directors on another production. Most recently Bill has been seen as Old Man Strong / Senator Phipp in Urinetown! (Ridgefield Theater Barn), Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde (Musicals at Richter) and as Chad in Disaster! The Musical (Carriage House Arts Center). Other favorite area roles include Col. Mustard in The Cluesual Suspects (Carriage House), Judas in Godspell (Westport Community Theater), Dave Butkatinsky in The Full Monty (Curtain Call), and Leon Czolgosz in Assassins (The Bijou Theater). Many thanks to Joel, Regina, Laurie, Beth, Lou, and the cast for an amazing experience!
PATRICIA WHITE: Patricia is ecstatic to join the Curtain Call family. Previously cast as Mariam Aarons in The Women and M’Lynn Eatonton in Steel Magnolias, Patricia spent last year as a stand-in for Patricia Arquette while producing her own independent feature film, Victims. She’s as diversified as her characters and writes content from screenplays to sexomedy.

PRODUCTION TEAM
PETER BARBIERI, JR. (Production Design) Peter has been a theatre professional since 1979. He is our Associate Artistic Director and was the founding director of our outdoor, summer Shakespeare on the Green. Peter’s work has been seen both here and abroad. Broadway credits include technical direction of the Tony Award-winning revivals of Cabaret and A View From The Bridge. Overseas, his work was seen as far as Shanghai, China and he designed the sets for the Danish production of Cats. Peter directed our productions of Titanic, Twelve Angry Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, Macbeth, The Producers, A View From The Bridge and Romeo & Juliet. For many years, he was a member of Rehabilitation Through the Arts, a non-profit organization that works in the prison system of the State of NY. He directed their productions of Macbeth, Twelve Angry Men and their first musical, West Side Story in Sing Sing Prison. Peter and his wife, Julia, live in Fairfield with their son, Peter III.
REGINA BUTLER (Stage Manager) has been a trial lawyer for 27 years, and currently practices in Downtown Bridgeport. She is a proud member of the Trumbull Arts Commission. She is thrilled and honored to be a part of the Curtain Call family, and has worked as an ASM of several productions. Huge thanks to Lou and Jan for giving me such incredible opportunities; to Joel for his unlimited talent, creativity, and sense of humor; to Laurie and Beth for all of their help and support; and to this incredible cast. Thank you for making this such a wonderful experience! Love to BZ and my favorite Loyola Rambler, Lucas!
JOEL FENSTER (Director) Joel is honored and thrilled to be returning to Curtain Call’s DRT after last directing 2014’s production of The Unexpected Guest. For Curtain Call, Joel has also directed The Mousetrap, And Then There Were None, When We Are Married, City of Angels and Pippin. He has also directed numerous shows at various other theaters in Fairfield County including Disaster (Carriage House Arts Center in Norwalk), Fiddler on the Roof (Bridgeport Theater Company), The Cat’s Meow (Eastbound Theater in Milford), Spider’s Web (Westport Community Theater) and Go Back for Murder, Julius Caesar, Book of Days and Sly Fox (The Darien Players). Joel would like to thank his mishpucha (Tash, Mac, the D-man, Einstein and Midge) for putting up with all his mishegas and allowing him to do the things he loves to do. Another one checked off the “bucket list.”
BETH JACKSON (Assistant Stage Manager) Beth is delighted to be returning to the dark side of the Dressing Room Theatre for Accomplice. She has previously been seen on stage and (not seen) back stage at Curtain Call for a variety of productions, her most recent productions being Hamlet and Ragtime. Beth has also performed in The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Town Players of New Canaan, and had a recent turn as Sally in Wilton Playshop’s Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! She thanks the cast and the rest of the production crew for a diabolically fun run. Beth also sends thanks, love, and hugs to Mark and John Robert.
LAURIE LOGAN-PRISCOTT (Assistant Stage Manager) Laurie is thrilled to be back for another show in the DRT! Last season, she was Stage Manager for Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, and Assistant Stage Manager A Comedy of Tenors. Here’s to Joel, Regina and Beth, the dream Director and SM team to work with, and this small but fiercely talented cast for all the twists and turns on this production. Most love to my theater people at home!
