Fixing leaks There are around 37,000 kms of water pipes under the ground in the Anglian Water region – that’s enough pipe to wrap around the Earth at the equator! So it’s a big job to track down and fix any leaks. The company fixes around 30,000 leaks every year. Moving water to the most vulnerable areas The company uses pipes to move water from where there is a good supply to areas where there is less water available. Investing for the future Anglian Water has invested in fitting water meters, drilling new boreholes, finding and fixing leaks, pumping water to areas badly affected by drought, and providing water- saving gadgets for our homes. The company is also building a new reservoir in the Lincoln area. What can I do to help? We each use an average of 145 litres of water a day at home. Just think how much water could be saved if we each dropped 20 litres - or about two full buckets - every day!
