Sleep

Seeing sunrises and sunsets helps set body clocks for effective sleep.

Allow the energy of the blue sky to enter your naked eyes for 20 minutes in the two hours after sunrise and before sunset.

Page 3: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Sunlight• Expose yourself and your unprotected eyes

to natural light for 30 minutes around sunrise and around sunset.

• To help set body clocks, take melatoninmelatonin- the nighttime antioxidant in doses from .3-30mg between sundown and bedtime.

• Noontime sun is necessary to make optimal levels of vitamin D, the most important hormone for apoptosis of cancer cells.

Page 4: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Vitamin D

1. Vitamin D is the most important hormone to tell chronic inflammatory cells and defective cancer cells to commit cell suicide or apoptosis.

Page 5: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Food

Start the day with soaked grains, seeds and nuts.

Egg yolks, avocados as well as heavily pigmented fruits, vegetables emphasizing crucifers and berries recharge detoxification systems.

Page 6: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Food

Longevity, productivity and freedom from aches and

pains are associated with eating fewer high-quality calories

in nutrient dense foods.

Page 7: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Food Boosters of natural killer cell activity:

Green vegetables help.  Consume fiber-rich green vegetables

3-5 servings a day. Anti carcinogenic sulforaphanes are

rich in garlic, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower, carrots and green onion.

Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring sulfur-containing isothiocyanate derivative that helps mobilize the human body's natural cancer-fighting resources and reduces the risk of developing cancer.

Page 8: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Food

• Eat 3-5 servings of raw greens daily;

• Use garlic and ginger liberally in food.

Page 9: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Alkaline Water

• A pH range of 8.0 is a deadly environment for the cancer cell.

• Drink mineralized or alkalized water!

• Osteoporosis are the result of chronic excessive acidity.

Page 10: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Rotate your foods.

• Add hydrating greens (minerals, antioxidants, fiber, polarized water)

• and sunshine.

Budwig Diet

Dr. Johanna Budwig Mix:  Put in your blender:

1 cup Organic cottage cheese (low fat or yogurt).

2-5 Tbsp. of flaxseed oil.

1-3 Tbsp. of freshly ground up flaxseed plusenough water to make it soft.

Six times Nobel award nominated doctor says this essential nutrient combination actually prevents and helps the body to cure cancer !

Robert Willner, M.D.,Ph.D. ("The Cancer Solution").

CANCER IS CURABLE through dietary/lifestyle modification.

RULES:

• 1) SUGAR IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN.• 2) Other 'forbiddens' are: - All animal fats (range fed and organic sources ok).

- All Salad Oils (this included commercial mayonnaise)

- All Meats (chemicals & hormones) - Butter - Margarine- Preserved Meats

Page 13: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Rules:

• 3) Freshly squeezed vegetable juices are fine – romaine, carrot, celery, apple and red beet.• 4) Three times daily a warm tea is essential –

Multivitamin/Mineral supplementsThe following vitamins prolong cancer life span 12 to 20 times. (divided into three daily doses):

Vitamin C   12 grams Vitamin B3   1.5-3 grams

Vitamin B6   250 mg

Folic acid   5-10 mg

Other B vitamins  25-50 times RDA

Vitamin E (with gamma)     800 IU

Beta-carotene  25,000-50,000 IU

Selenium   200-500 mcg

Zinc sulfate   220 mg (150-mg elemental zinc)

Occasionally: a calcium, magnesium, or multimineral supplement.

Supplements

Colostrum (first mother's milk) and whey with its derivatives, lysozyme, lactoferrin, and transfer factor are powerful immune boosters.

Colostrum contains growth factors, lipids, lysozyme, lactoferrin, regulatory cytokines and cytotoxins.

Small amounts of colostrum several times per day markedly enhance healing.

Lysozyme kills the AIDS virus among others.

Page 16: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Lactoferrin

• Lactoferrin is antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and (along with lipoic acid) is useful for getting excess iron out of the body.

• Lactoferrin delivers iron for absorption and keeps iron from feeding pathogenic microbes; stimulates phagocytosis and natural killer cell response; can prevent late-phase allergic response; and also promotes analgesia.

• Lactoferrin dose for treating cancer is to 1,500mg per day.

Page 17: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Supplements

NAC (N-acetylcysteine) at 500 mg twice per day effectively boosts glutathione.

Amino acids are necessary for restoring glutathione antioxidant-buffering systems.

Page 18: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Supplements • Cysteine is plentiful in egg yolks, red

peppers, whey, garlic, onion, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower.

• Selenium, zinc, magnesium, and even vanadium help recycle glutathione.

• Lipoic acid also recycles glutathione.

• Add arginine, taurine, tryptophan, glutamine and/or glycine for recurrent inflammation or infection.

Advanced Glycation End Products ‘Leathering’ and stiffening of our proteins is called glycation

or glycosylation.

Seen as brown deposits under the skin called ‘age spots,’ AGEs is the acronym for advanced glycosylation end products.

Experience as diminished endurance or organ reserve, wrinkles, brown ‘age’ spots and decreased flexibility.

Too much browning reaction leads to senescence, Alzheimer’s disease, inflamed micro and macro vasculature, periodontal diseases, strokes, heart attacks, cancer and nerve damage.

Page 20: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

AGEs

• Research at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York shows that frying or grilling certain foods at high temperatures produces compounds (AGEs) that can increase inflammation in the body.

Page 21: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Advanced Glycation End Products

• The compounds, called advanced glycation end products (AGEs), showing up in the blood of people with chronic diseases associated with inflammation, including diabetes, heart disease, RA and OA.

• Foods cooked at high temps create AGEs that can be absorbed by the body. Perhaps 10 percent of AGEs we get from eating seared burgers and fried chicken may be absorbed.

Page 22: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

To achieve a lower AGEd diet, try the following:

• Limit the amount of grilled, broiled, fried and microwaved meats in your diet.

• Reduce the cooking temperature of meats and proteins.

• Steam fish and seafood, simmer chicken in a sauce and braise red meat in a cooking liquid.

Page 23: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

To achieve a lower AGEd diet, try the following:(cont.)

• Cut down on processed foods. Many prepared foods have been exposed to a high cooking temperature to lengthen shelf life, so they may have high AGE contents.

• Get more fruits and veggies in your diet. • Cooked or raw, they’re naturally low in

AGEs, and many contain compounds such as antioxidants that can decrease some of the damage done by AGEs.

Caution

Cancer thrives on sugar and lack of oxygen (anaerobic metabolism).

Alcohol, coffee and caffeine are very destabilizing to blood sugar.

Page 25: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Avoid

 • Browned, baked, toasted and roasted

foods create deformed protein-sugar molecules called advanced glycation end products (AGEs).

• AGEs are interpreted as stress molecules similar to heat shock proteins at the gene level of the cell

Page 26: Dietary LifeStyle Modification
Page 27: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Avoid

• Avoid large meals.• Avoid all pasteurized commercial

juices.• Tumors love blood sugar.   Eat foods of

low glycemic index. • Some cancer clinics, under medical

supervision, administer enough insulin to drop blood sugar low enough to cause coma, day after day, starving the tumor.

Page 28: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Activity

1. Tend your body like a garden.  2. Walk.  3. Increase your electricity. 4. The stabilized or shrinking tumor

serves as a marker of effectiveness of lifestyle and attitudinal changes.

Page 29: Dietary LifeStyle Modification
Page 30: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Activity

1. A gentle exercise program reduces risk 2-4 times.

2. Exercise (walk) for about 20 minutes so that you breathe deeply, but can still carry on a conversation.

3. Stretch and warm up before; stretch and cool down after.

ENERGY PRODUCTION-

• Walk or swim 20 minutes once or even twice per day.

• Big three energy cofactors are coenzyme Q10, carnitine, and NADH.  ATP is available as an effective supplement at 500-1,500mg per day, even though our collective mitochondria produce pounds daily.

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide

Page 35: Dietary LifeStyle Modification

Attitude

• Forgiveness, prayers, gratitude, and loving friends can provide necessary emotional and spiritual support.

• Emphasize humor and gratitude, the healing emotions.
