Were looking for a different kind of student.

People tend to be rather accepting and understanding of the time that I need to make my career happen not just to be a student now and a professional later, but to bridgethe gap. This is something that I havent discovered at any of the other institutions inwhich Ive studied.

The big question was if I wanted to go to a state school or a conservatory. Im glad I cameto a state school. There is a conservatory feeling within the UMD School of Music. But, we also take classes across campus, which gets you out and about. Youre not with the same people all the time.

Through the University of Maryland Chamber Singers, Ive been able to perform inFrance and at the Kennedy Center and a lot of places that I dont think I wouldve had the chance to perform if I hadnt been here.
