Dear Friend,
Kalispell Rotary Noon and Daybreak Clubs are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Dig Rotary Day - a hands on event that the whole community will dig! Mark your calendar for June 13 from (10am – 4pm, Hwy 93 and Rose Crossing), pack up the family, and get ready for a great day!
Kids (and adults!) will have the thrill of operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, graders, and bulldozers – not just watching them! Other heavy equipment will also be on site for exploration along with kid-friendly construction activities. Dig Rotary Day is dedicated to providing a safe, fun, experience for everyone.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local vendors and food trucks.
The Flathead Valley business community has always provided generous support for local events and causes. Rotary’s mission is Service Above Self. We make a difference together through our charitable donations and volunteer service.
Kalispell Rotary Clubs would be honored to have your support as a Dig Rotary Day Sponsor. Your generosity will have double benefits, as all event proceeds will go to the design and construction of a community splashpad and playground along the new Downtown Kalispell Trail.
A description of Sponsorship Benefits is enclosed. Please choose the Sponsor level that best suits you and expresses your business’ commitment to our community. My contact information is shown below, should you have questions or wish to learn more about this Rotary event.
Thank you for considering a Dig Rotary Day sponsorship. Let’s Dig Deep to Raise a Community!

A splash pad is a recreation area, often in a public park, for water play that has little or no standing water. This is said to eliminate the need for lifeguards or other supervision, as there is little risk of drowning. Typically, there are ground nozzles that spray water upwards out of the splash pad’s rain deck and above ground water features such as a rainbow (semicircular pipe shower), or mushroom- or tree shaped showers.
Some splash pads feature movable nozzles similar to those found on fire trucks to allow users to spray others. The showers and ground nozzles are often controlled by a hand activated motion sensor, to run for limited time. The source of water is either freshwater, or recycled and treated water, that is typically treated to at least the same level of quality as swimming pool water standards. Splash pads are often surfaced in textured non-slip concrete or in crumb rubber.
The Daybreak and Noon Rotary Clubs of Kalispell intend to work closely with the City of Kalispell and the residents of Kalispell to design and build a splash pad somewhere along the new proposed Kalispell Trail through downtown. The ongoing Kalispell Trail design process has identified a proposed location for the splash pad. Below is an exhibit showing the proposed location and other photos are examples of splash pads.
What is a splash pad and Where should it be built?
