Adult I will begin the fall quarter on September 4. The study provides asurvey of Old Testament Wisdom literature (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Songof Solomon) and Jesus teaching in the Gospel according to Matthew.

Its time to start a new year of Sunday School classes! This fall all of ourSunday School classes will be learning about the Bible stories illustrated in
our churchs stained glass windows. Come and learn about:
Jesus calling the disciples to be fishers of people
Creation
Praise and Worship
Holy Week
The Ten Commandments
Serving God with your time, talents and money
The Presbyterian Symbol (which is full of Bible stories)
The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus
The birth of Jesus and the season of Advent
Lessons will be age appropriate with classes offered for the following age
groups:
Kindergarten through 3rd graders, 4th & 5th graders, Middle School & High
School
Nursery care provided for infants through Pre-K.
Join us @9:15 a.m. for FUN & FELLOWSHIP while learning about our
FAITH!
If you cant attend an Adult Sunday School class on Sunday morn-ings, come on Wednesday evenings during Faith Weaver Friends. Jay Dunnwill be teaching the same lessons studied in Adult I on Sunday mornings(Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon and Jesus teaching in the Gos-pel according to Matthew). You may join the children, youth and FaithWeaver Friends volunteers for dinner at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Room, thenattend Sunday School at 7 p.m. or just show up for the lesson at 7 p.m. inthe Conference Room. The first Wednesday night lesson will take place onSeptember 21.
Adult II will continue its study ofThe Promise of Baptism a study on the
subject of baptism and what it means to the Christian.

The January 2012 Haiti Mission Team is busy fundraising and bonding spiritually through Bi-ble Study. The team is as follows:

Each team member is responsible for a portion of his/her financial commitment. The team willbe having a pumpkin sale, garage sale, art auction and Brunswick stew sale, and other fund-

This is your personal invitation to be a part of this fall outreach ministry for Denbigh Presby-terian Church and to help spread Gods Word into our community.
Especially exciting this year is that the Fall Festival is in concurrence with the 50th Anniver-sary Weekend Celebration of our church. As such, many past parishioners are expected to bein attendance. Please join us in extending the hand of fellowship and friendship to all.
The food, games, and entertainment are free of charge. This year, donations from the BakeSale will be used for the bag lunch program during PORT, our upcoming homeless shelter.
Proceeds from the pumpkin patch and yard sale will go into the Haiti mission fund.
So, start pricing and packing up all those unwanted treasures for the yard sale, dust off thecookbooks for the bake sale, and get the word out to your family and friends. October is justaround the corner!
The pumpkins are growing on the Peninsula and will soon be headed our way. Please spreadthe word that THE PUMPKIN PATCH at Denbigh Presbyterian Church will be open begin-ning October 12. Sandi Murawski is once again leading this fund-raising effort and will becontacting you shortly with volunteer opportunities. Proceeds are marked for the Haiti mis-sion trip fund.

There will be a short training class after worship service on September 18 for anyone whoplans to use the new kitchen range or convection oven. Training is required before using
this equipment. No pre-registration is needed.
Kitchen Update
As of this writing, our kitchen renovation is nearly complete. We are grateful to DavidCanaday for constructing an extra closet in the kitchen and donating the beautiful tile floor.The kitchen has been painted, and the plumbing work is underway. We are very hopeful thatour kitchen renovation project will be complete within the next two weeks. Thank you for yourgenerosity and for your patience.
Church Treasurer Retires and New Treasurer Begins
We are very grateful to Gail McLeod for her 11 years of service as our church treasurer.Gail has given numerous hours of time and much energy to the ministry of keeping our churchfinancial records in order, paying bills, reporting to the Session and assisting church leaderswith all budgetary matters. She has also been instrumental in our investment planning andmanagement. Gail has done an excellent job and has gone above and beyond the call of dutythroughout her tenure as treasurer. Thank you, Gail!
As of September 1, Heather Schwarting became our new church treasurer. We arepleased that Heather has accepted this role and will be serving in this capacity. Welcomeaboard, Heather!

Discussed ordination standards in light of Amendment 10-A to the PCUSA constitu-tion.
Called a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, July 31 to establish a quorum for con-gregational meetings, establish notice time for congregational meetings and establishmake-up of the nominating committee. (All these items have to be voted upon in
keeping with The New Form of Government.)
Established quorum for session meetings at one-third of session membership, exceptwhen the session meeting is exclusively for the reception of new members who arealready baptized, when the quorum shall be three session members.

Its back to school time! The teachers at DPPK return to work on August 29, and we are alleager to meet our new students when they come for their Open House on September 8or 9.The first day of school is September 12, and I just know it is going to be a fantastic school
year.
Please join me in welcoming a new teacher to our staff. Mrs. Lesley Spitzer will be teaching 3year olds on T/Th and 4 year olds on M/W/F. Mrs. Spitzers background is in music educa-
tion, and we are very excited to have her join us.
We still have openings in our 2 day three year old classes and in our 3 day and 4 day four yearold classes. Please share this information with your family and friends. They can go online to

HELP! Calling all adults interested in helping our youth grow in their Christian faith. FaithWeaver Friends will kick-offWednesday, September 21 from 5:45-8:00 and we are in des-
perate need of table parents; Bible study leaders for High School, Middle School and Elemen-tary classes; helpers to set up tables, set tables (plates, etc.), clean up after dinner and assistwith checking in and checking out children. At Faith Weaver Friends, each child experiences an incredible, personal friendship with Je-sus through opening celebrations, family-style dinner, Discovery Centers, Bible Study, recrea-tion and journaling.
The fall session ofFaith Weaver Friends starts September 21 and runs to November 30.Faith Weaver Friends is for children/youth entering Kindergarten to High school. We are alsooffering a Bible Study Class for adults while the kids are enjoying their activities. Wednesdayevenings are for the whole family!
Faith Weaver Friends begins with a Parents Meeting on September 14 in the church Fel-lowship Room at 7:00 p.m. You will learn more about Faith Weaver Friends at the meetingand discover ways you can be involved in the ministry as you feel called. Fees will be col-lected at that time, as well.
The cost for the fall term is $20 per child or adult (this covers dinner). If you have more thanone child involved, the cost for additional children is $15 per child, not to exceed $50.00 perfamily.
Registration forms will be available on the youth board located in the education wing outsidethe office of the Director of Childrens/Youth Ministries. If you have any questions about the
program or would like to help spread the love of Jesus on the childrens lives,
