The digestive system consists of the digestive tract and glands that secrete digestive juices into digestive tract.
It helps convert foods into smaller molecules in order to be absorb.
Job of the organ
Mouth- the teeth tears and crush the moisten food into a a fine taste until is ready to go down
Saliva glands contains two enzymes- amylase (breaks chemical bonds between sugar monomers in starches, andlysozyme ( an enzyme that fights infection)
Stomach- is a large muscular sac filled with chemical digestion
The lining of the stomach contains millions of microscopic gastric glands
