INTRODUCTION

Welcome to DigiBookShelf 2005 Professional! This tutorial will help you quickly start enjoying the wide variety of program features by covering the following topics:

Import Photos – Get photos directly from your camera or from Hard Drive on your computer.

Create Album – Choose the layout or album cover and add text or audio to your album.

Enhance – Quickly fix up photo flaws and modify photos.

Print – Print photos, catalogs, greeting cards or calendars

Preserve and Share – Make an album CD, make a backup or send an album to share.

LET’S GET STARTED!DigiBookShelf offers you various ways to import photos into the program. Let’s use the Album Creation Wizard to easily bring in photos.

ALBUM CREATION WIZARDRight-click on empty area (not over an album spine) of the bookshelf to open a Menu Sheet.Click the Wizard button as shown above and open a Wizard window.

IMPORTING PHOTOSYou can get photos from Hard Drive on your PC, directly from cameras, scanners, and other Twain devices.

Getting Photos from “My Picture” folder 1. Select “Import Images from Selected Folder” and click a right-arrow button to open a window as below.

2. Use the button along the top of the window to navigate to a folder in My Picture folder. This time, check “Add All Images” to import all the image in the folder. To import only selected images in the folder, check “Add Selected Images”, instead.

3. Click OK and go to the next page to pick an album layout.

Select a layout and click a right-arrow to go to the next page. A drop-down menu will give you more choices of other available layouts (Simple, Diary, Others).

Click to select your book cover and click a right-arrow to go to the next page.

5. Name your album, choose Yes or No for the display options. Once you’re content with them click aRight-arrow to go to the next page.

Voila! Easy wasn’t it? Now, let’s add some texts to give more life to each photo!

Double-click a text frame under the photo to open a text window. You can change the font to use by clicking “Change Font” button.

ADDING AUDIOSNow that we have created a photo album with pictures and texts, let’s spice this album up a little by adding some Background Music to it!

1. Click “Album Setting” button along the top right corner of an album to open Album Settings window.

2. Click “BGM” tab to open a BGM window. Make sure “Play BGM when Album opens” is checked.

DigiBookShelf 2005 Pro comes with a number of loyalty free audio samples. To add audio from an available list, click a drop-down menu at the bottom of the window. Select an audio and click “Add from BGM list”. The audio will be added to the list above. You can add as many as you wish. One on top of the list plays first and followed by one listed after it.

That’s all it takes. Click OK to close the window. Close this album if the BGM doesn’t start playing. Click to open this album and start flipping pages to hear the BGM!

ADDING YOUR OWN AUDIOS1. Under “BGM Settings”, click to check “Add BGM from File” Click “Add from File” button and locate your audio file.

New audio file will be added to the BGM list. Repeat this step to continue to add more audios. Click OK to close Album Settings window.

ENHANCING PHOTOSWe all come up with photos that are a little too dark, too bright or faded. Let’s see if we can fix some of those flaws

This picture looks a little too dark and needs a little fix to brighten it up.

1. Right-click on a image to open a Menu Sheet. Click “Automatically Enhance Images” on the right side of the Menu Sheet.

2. Auto Fix window will open. By default, the right side of window displaying “Condition” is hidden and Default Condition is selected. To expand the window for more condition settings, click a button “More>>” as shown below.

2. Choose how you want to save the image. This time, let’s choose the 2nd option to save the modified image as another image. That’s it! Try this fix on some of your own photos!

CROPPING A PHOTORight-Click on a photo you want to crop and open a Menu Sheet. Click “Edit” button, then “Crop”. Drag a mouse to draw a cropping area around the image. Once you are happy with the cropping area, click inside the area to apply cropping.

APPLING CREATIVE EFFECTSYou can find a variety of filters and effects in an Editing Menu. Touch up and liven them up your photos the way you can imagine!

1. Blurred Ellipse – Open a Menu Sheet on an image and click Edit > Filter > Blurred Ellipse… .

2. Modify settings to your preference as you see the Preview and click OK.

ADDING CLIPARTYou can add ClipArt images both inside a photo frame or anywhere on an album spread page.

To insert ClipArt into a photo frame:1. Right-click on a image to open a Menu Sheet. Click Add ClipArt button to open a ClipArt window.

2. Select a clipart image you want to add from the list and click OK.

More than 100 clipart images are available to choose from.

3. Type some texts that fit into the balloon and click OK.

PRINTING MORE THAN JUST PHOTOS!DigiBookShelf 2005 Pro lets you print photos in various ways. You can print a spread page in an album, photo catalogs, greeting cards, or calendars.

Print an image1. Right-click on an image you want to print, and open a Menu Sheet. Click a “Print” button and select “Print Image”.

Text can be added to print with. You can also resize the photo to print by dragging either corner of an image.

Once you are content with the layout, click a “PRINT” button.

PRINTING A PHOTO CATALOGYou can make a photo catalog as shown below by printing multiple photos in an album

1. Right-click an empty area in an album spread page to open a Menu Sheet.

1.Click a “Print” button and select “Print Catalog”.

2. Play with the display settings in a print window as shown above. You can turn the texts on or off, change the number of pictures to be printed on a single page, etc. Once you’re happy with the settings, click “PRINT” to print.

PRINTING A CALENDARYou can print a calendar with your photo just as easily. You can include up to 6 months in one calendar.

1. Right-click on an image you want to use as a calendar image, and open a Menu Sheet.

2. Click a “Print” button, and select “Print Calendar”.

3. Modify settings for the calendar to your preference and click “PRINT”.

BURNING ALBUMS DIRECTLY TO A CD/DVDDigiBookShelf lets you burn your Albums or a Slideshow directly to a CD or DVD.(CD/DVD burner drive is required.). The contents burned to a CD in DigiBookShelf will be viewable on PCs without DigiBookShelf installed.

1. To select multiple albums, click on an album spine of each album while holding down the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard. Once selected, click on an album spine of any of the selected album and open a Menu Sheet.

2. Click a “Export Viewer” button and select “Export Viewer to CD/DVD” to burn your albums directly to a blank media your drive supports. A dialog window, shown as below, will appear.

3. Sonic Record NOW! will open. Insert a blank media (CD/DVD) into your drive if you haven’t done so. Click “Burn” to start burning content.

SHARING YOUR ALBUMDigiBookShelf lets you share your album by uploading them to our album server. Your recipients will receive an email invitation to download and view the album. (You PC needs to be connected to the Internet.)

1. Click a “Send Album” button located along the top right corner of an album.

Don’t worry if your recipients have DigiBookShelf or not. If the program is not installed on their PCs, the freeware program will automatically be installed to open your album.

2. Type an email address (separate multiple emails by a comma) into a text box(1), and a Message(2), then a Design. Click “Preview” to see a preview if you want to, then “Send Album” to complete uploading.
