DIGIPAK EDITS

This is all of the edits we have made on our first shoot for a digipak. We decided to only

edit our favourite 3 as they would be the ones we are most likely to use.

Whilst editing I added ‘lighting effects’ as this made the colours appear brighter. The photo is taken on a road and a night, therefore with the lights as well I think it ties in nicely. Lastly I clicked Auto Levels, as I took the photo at night but it has lights in, it gives an estimated correct ‘levels’ which evens out the photo so the editing didn’t look to much.

The main colour in this photo is the bright green and the bright red, therefore I specifically selected, green and red whilst changing the levels to make them stand out more.

In our group we were thinking that because of the circle around the photo that the fish eye lense created, we could use this as the one behind the CD. Even the original has a bright, vibrant red light through it I wanted to make that stand out more, therefore increased the curves on red so it would attract your eye to that mostly. This made the photo appear a little dark, so I clicked on ‘Brightness/Contrast’ and made the photo appear brighter and lowered the contrast so the shadows weren’t as dark. I am happy with the final outcome.

Black and whiteWe wanted to make one of these photos from the first shoot black and white because that would fit better with our music video.

I added a tint of blue to the black and white photo. I didn’t want to emphasise this too much however I think it looks quite nice like this.

The colours of black and white didn’t look right, therefore I added a colour filter of orange but only made it subtle.

I have edited our favourite 3 in PhotoShop, however when creating a Digipack there needs to be at least 6 photos so we’re

going to do another shoot. Then we need to measure up what size the photos need to be and what songs/title we are putting

on the front cover.
