Promundo-US, an international non-governmental organization working to promote gender equality and prevent violence, seeks a part-time Digital and Brand Management Intern to work in its Washington, DC office 16 hours/week, January-June 2020 (with potential to extend). Job Responsibilities We are looking for a tech savvy, organized, and creative thinker and excellent communicator to join Promundo as a Digital and Brand Management Intern as part of a dynamic communications team. Responsibilities include:

• Support Promundo’s web redesign and 2020 relaunch by tracking and tagging

resources; copyediting and updating content; and/or supporting the

communications team as needed to ensure the relaunch is a success. • Build an accessible and dynamic photo library by identifying, with the

communications team a photo management platform; migrating existing photos (alongside credit, caption, and permissions) into this platform; and supporting the acquisition and inclusion of new photography to demonstrate Promundo’s work and impact.

• Support and source social media content (which may include creating graphics and messaging) to support Promundo’s digital engagement goals.

• Support the communications team as needed with department tasks (including copyediting, formatting, and file organization).

• Edit and format new, slide deck presentations as needed for ongoing use by staff to present Promundo’s work.

• Support Promundo’s journalist engagement strategy by tracking and identifying key journalists, and updating Promundo’s media contact list, as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• Relevant experience and/or education (including in communications, public relations, web management, film and/or photo editing, international development, gender, public health, or related field preferred)

• Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills • Excellent attention to detail • Proactive, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize well, with strong self-

motivation • Hard worker and quick learner • Kind, empathetic, and a good listener

Desirable Qualifications

• Web management (WordPress or other CMS platform) • Digital engagement strategy and/or implementation (Facebook, Twitter,

YouTube, etc.) • Communications analytics (Google Analytics, social media, and media/press

analytics) • Second language skills (Spanish preferred; French and/or Arabic also useful) • SEO strategy • Photo or film editing

• Experience with social media management tools • Digital fundraising strategy • Graphic design (Adobe Design Suite, such as InDesign and Photoshop) • Data visualization

Compensation

• $14/hour, for up to 16 hours per week Term

• January 6 – June 30, 2020 (with potential to extend)
