Grade Level: 9th Collaborating Teacher: Ms. Penny GaryLearner Analysis: The learner analysis was at Statesboro High School in Statesboro, Georgia. The classroom comprise of fourteen 9th grade students in Ms. Gary’s business education class. My goal was for students to understand how to be a digital citizen and how much can happen via the internet if you are not cautious and taking proper precautions as a digital citizen.

Standard: http://www.iste.org/standards/ISTE-standards/standards-for-students

Target Audience:The target audience for this particular unit include 70% black, 30% white 9th grade students. There was one student who needed accommodations, meaning he would need you to possibly rephrase the directions when given during the unit lessons. This particular student also needed assistance during the quiz after the unit lesson.

Prior Knowledge: The students didn’t have to know a whole lot about digital citizenship and they didn’t know much about digital citizenship prior to the lesson. I was thrilled because that meant that they were going to be really engaged in my lesson.

Academic Motivation: The students had very little motivation aside from wanting to move up to the next grade level with their peers. When it came to listening to their teacher when she assigned them work to complete, they seemed very uninterested and unmotivated. I did my best to get them engaged into the lesson prior to me teaching the unit. Once we began a discussion on social media and its effects, they became more alert and interested in the conversation and lesson.

Characteristics: Though the class size is very small, there are not a wide range of students with a lot lot of needs to be met. Most of the students in the class are just behind on their work is because of behavioral issues.
