COMPANY PROFILEOver half a century ago an artist, landscape architect and electric lighting innovator by the name of John Robin Watson pioneered the field of landscape illumination. The company he founded, John Watson Landscape Illumination (JWLI), is currently credited with over 20,000 custom designed outdoor lighting projects around the world. John Watson created and coined industry standard terms such as "Moonlight" and "Moonshadow." The JWLI design philosophy centers upon understanding how light interact with trees and other natural landscape elements to create a beautiful nighttime environment.

The JWLI clientele spans the globe from the Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo and Hotel Cipriani in Venice to the Augusta National Golf Club and Pebble Beach Lodge in California. Whether it is Resorts, Universities, Governors' Mansions, or Royal Family Estates, JWLI satisfies discerning clients who require nothing less than the very best.

Our "Design Build" process, from initial consultation to fixture manufacturing and onsite installation and maintenance, offers a full range of landscape illumination services. The professionals at JWLI cooperate fully with other professionals and specialists including architects, landscape architects, builders, interior designers and land developers.

The designers at JWLI combine the innovative concepts of landscape lighting design with a concern for safety and security in developing complete outdoor lighting systems for fine properties worldwide. They bring their extensive international experience to each new design, focusing on the specific needs of the project. This allows JWLI to create custom designed lighting solutions for an extensive range of properties, from small cottages to palatial estates and beyond.
