    The Digital Edge Youth Board

    About Nominet Trust

Nominet Trust is a UK registered charity, which believes in the power of the internet to improve lives

    and communities.

Nominet Trust brings together, invests in and supports people committed to using the internet to

    create social and economic value.

Nominet Trust has invested in hundreds of projects since its inception in September 2008, providing

business support as well as financial investment, seeking to connect projects to prospective partners

who can help increase their reach and impact.

Nominet Trust was founded in 2008 by Nominet, the not-for-profit organisation responsible for the

smooth and secure running of the .uk internet infrastructure. Nominet has a strong public purpose

and the Trust is one example of its commitment to creating a safer, accessible and diverse internet.

    About Digital Edge

The Digital Edge is a 2 million investment programme to fund new ideas for using digital technology

to improve young peoples economic and social participation.

Digital technology offers the opportunity to engage young people in new, more meaningful and

relevant ways and enable their participation in building a more resilient society.

Organisations and companies have been busy applying to the Digital Edge fund in the hope to secure

some money to solve the four key areas where Nominet Trust believes young people face the

greatest challenges and where digital technology could have the greatest impact:

    1. Digging deeper into the problems and addressing the root causes2. Exploring the changing landscape and the nature of engagement3. Renegotiating professional practice4. New forms of employment and reward

The Digital Edge Youth Board is vital in Stage 2 of the applications. By this point a number of

applications will have been shortlisted by the Nominet Trust Board of Trustees. Your responses to

these ideas will decide which projects are funded through the Digital Edge Programme.
