THE PAVILION PROJECT

In the Pavilion Project the object was to teach space and flow. Requirements were a 3 story space that was 36 x 36. My solution was to offset the axis horizontal planes. This

model shows horizontal movement among the floors.

THE DOCTOR OFFICE

The doctor’s office project was a floor plan given by the professor that was originally a square with no wall entrance, only a scale size for estimating. My solution was to

add extruded corners with a subtraction technique, fin walls to the side and a vestibule for a sense of entry, and a hip roof . Additional drawings and other views of

the doctors office project. This project was selected for Spring show at OCC

Concept statement

The idea for the design was to create a form that was modern, but reflect

elements from the classic style of Sorrento’s

architecture and those came my concept a rhythm of time. The site allowed

for the visitors to be taken into Sorrento’s rich culture and the tranquility to time,

but as the building is visible in front of the sea. The mass is formed out of

a cloister structure maintained and

complementing the beauty of the site, as the building looks out to the sea with

the sun shining on the path welcoming in gest.

Forest Lawn project

Concept: The aspiration for this project was an old retaining wall that at one part had fallen to the pressure of the earth. The idea of the rocks appeared to contemplate life and the path of life as we all must pass through. Since we are strong at first, but as time moves along we slowly begin to lose durability. However a retaining wall cannot hold back the earth without help and that is why the gem that strikes into the river below will be mourned. The fallen stones that keep back the power of the earth pushing upon it, but gives way to the stream below it. The forest lawn crematorium was designed in mind with the thought of reflection of those loved ones that have become a piece of the world. Which joins them to the earth looking up to the heavens throw the trees and we look down the hall in memory of them as we walk on in life.
