BITUMEN:
IS an oil based substance. It is a semi-solid hydrocarbon product produced by removing the lighter fractions (such as liquid petroleum gas, petrol and diesel) from heavy crude oil during the refining process. As such, it is correctly known as refined bitumen. “Asphalt” is the term used for a mixture of small stones, sand, filler and bitumen, which is used as a road paving material. The asphalt mixture contains approximately 5% bitumen. At ambient temperatures bitumen is a stable, semi-solid substance.The vast majority of refined bitumen is used in construction: primarily as a constituent of products used in paving and roofing applications. According to the requirements of the end use bitumen is produced to specification. This is achieved either by refining process or blending.Iran is the seventh producer and the fourth exporter of Bitumen in the world and the largest producer of Bitumen in the Middle East.

DOP ( Dioctyl Phthalate )

DOP is an organic compound with the formula C8H4(C8H17COO)2. DEHP is the most common member of the
class of phthalates which are used as plasticizers. It is the diester of phthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-
ethylhexanol. This colorless viscous liquid is soluble in oil, but not in water. Accounting for an almost 54%
market share in 2010, DEHP is a High Production Volume Chemical.

Phthalic anhydride is the organic compound with the formula C6H4(CO)2O. It is the anhydride of phthalic acid.
Phthalic anhydride is a principal commercial form of phthalic acid. It was the first anhydride of a dicarboxylic
acid to be used commercially. This colorless solid is an important industrial chemical, especially for the large-
scale production of plasticizers for plastics. In 2000, the worldwide production volume was estimated to be
about 3 million tons per year.
DOTP ( Dioctyl Terephthalate )

Dioctyl terephthalate (bis(2-ethylhexyl) benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate or Di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate),
commonly abbreviated DOTP or DEHT, is an organic compound with the formula C6H4(CO2 C8H17)2. It is a non-
phthalate plasticizer, being the diester of terephthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-ethylhexanol. This
colorless viscous liquid used for softening PVC plastics is known for chemical similarity to general purpose
phthalates such as DEHP and DINP, but without any negative regulatory pressure. It possesses very good
plasticizing properties and may be used as a direct replacement for DEHP and DINP in many applications.
