1. Limit Bandwidth Activity during Critical Battle Rhythm Events: During the ARNORTH CUB, ARNORTH CDR Huddle and NNC CSAM limit (minimize) usage of streaming video, opening of large files (over 10 MB), cameras via Virtual Conferencing and IP Based VTC(s)… bandwidth is high during these periods.

7. Maintain Username(s) and Passwords: Establish Battle Rhythm to Logon to Mission Partner Portals on a routine basis to keep usernames and passwords valid.

8. Ensure Secure Phones (STE) Encryptions are updated

9. Do not conduct Cross Domain Transfers unless you have been properly trained and are on Orders. There are set procedures for taking unclassified documents from the SIPRNet to the NIPRNet; need to ensure they are followed.

10. Naming Convention will be as follows:

• 120503 – ARNORTH 0700 CUB • (year, month, day ‘space’ - ‘space’ ‘Document Title’)

Digital Rules of EngagementDefense Connect Online (DCO) Web Conferencing

1. Cameras as a rule will not be utilized during Web Conferencing.

2. If you are a Host or Presenter: Do not play/adjust the pods (mini windows). When you enlarge a pod it effects all participants. They see what you see.

3. In the Chat pod ask the Host to give you enhanced rights to the Camera/Voice and Chat Pods. This will allow you to activate your voice pod.

4. The Host should be the only one with the "Hands Free" talk icon enabled. To disable the Hands Free feature: Go to the Camera and Voice Pod and click on the Pad Lock symbol next to the Talk button.

5. Everyone else should have their "Talk" icon white... so you have to hold the "Talk" Icon down to talk. Wait 1-2 seconds upon holding the "Talk" icon button prior to talking.

6. Only talk when asked by the Host or ask the Host in the Chat pod to talk.

7. Use R/T Procedures: When you are done talking say "Over“ or “Out”

8. Establish connectivity 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to ensure your system is functional.

– After Boards and Working Groups post minutes/EXSUM (CG Decisions, Guidance, Major Points and Staff Taskings required) in same location

Please ensure your video connection is ready (audio and video check) 30 minutes before the start of the conference call with the actual room, i.e., AOC

Provide Senior Representative 30 minutes prior.

Do not use cell phones on the call as they are too disruptive. 

Do not put your phone on hold during the conference call.

Mute your phone when not speaking.

1. Coordinate your participation in Secure TC with ARNORTH G3 Current Operations: only 40 ports

2. Ensure your KOV-14 card is in the STE

3. Call the Secure Bridge Number: (210) 295-9827 or 9828

4. The system will automatically go secure…  you will here the high pitch tone and should see that you have established a secure call on the LED Display of the STE.

5. After the phone goes secure, you will hear a dial tone. Immediately enter “5000” and click the send button indicated on your LED Display of your STE.  (You will have a limited time to complete this step.)

If FEMA issues a “General or Broad” MA and subsequent Mission Tasking Orders (MTO)

…with each MTO add an alpha character, in sequence, starting with “a” after the “General or Broad” MA number …(Prefix the “a” with a dash ‘-’)
