February 25, 2016, Quezon City. It was the 30th Anniversary of the 1986 EDSA Revolution. Very early in the morning, thousands of Filipinos gathered in front of the EDSA People Power Monument to celebrate three decades of EDSA Revolution Anniversary. Among those in the crowd were President Benigno S. Aquino III, former President Fidel V. Ramos and DILG Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento. Moments later, two FA-50 Golden Eagle fighter jets of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) loudly roared as they flew in the sky, bringing cheers to the crowd. Also in attendance were famous Filipino artists Ogie Alcasid, Noel Cabangon and The Ryan Cayabyab Singers who made the atmosphere even more festive as they serenaded the crowd with their beautiful rendition of Filipino patriotic songs. And then the historic Salubungan Program commenced. The Salubungan symbolizes the new generation’s desire to keep aflame the ideals of EDSA. In his speech, President Aquino said, ”Nawa’y mag- ambagan tayong lahat, upang hindi na kailanman muling manaig ang kadiliman sa Pilipinas.
