SPECIAL PRAYERS We pray today for all our parishioners, homebound, sick, lonely, rejected. We pray for
the health and recovery of all who are ill at home and hospitals, and may God almighty
extend His healing touch upon them. We pray for all the souls of the faithful departed,
may God grant eternal rest unto them. We pray for their grieving families, in prepping
for their final farewells, and in coping with their loss. We pray for the ever dreadful taxi
violence in our community, and for God to reach and touch the hearts and minds of the
various associations playing key roles in our society. Let us keep in prayer school insti-
tutions that are being more of a war zone, than a place of learning for our children.

Easter Envelopes
Easter Envelopes are
now available at the
office and from your
respec t i ve Zone
Leaders. We give thanks to Christ during
the Season of Easter, for the precious gift
of salvation, and victory over death, to free
us from the chains of death and sin. All
Easter Envelopes are due by Pentecost (09
June 2019). Please adhere to this date.
No one reaches sinless perfection in this life, but the believer is being sanctified (made holy) day by day, sinning less and hating it more each time he fails. Yes, we still sin, but unwillingly and less and less frequently as we mature in Christ. Our new self-hates the sin that still has a hold on us. This is part of what Lent is about – reflecting on what it is to be a new creation in Christ – knowing that he paid the ultimate price for us. The new creation is no longer a slave to sin, as we formerly were. We are now freed from sin and it no longer has power over us (Romans 6:6-7).
