The goal of th i s project was to explore form and funct ion us ing a common theme. The free-standing home was des igned to house three internat ional students .

My des ign responded to the northern v iews threw i r regular roof l ines , angular wal ls and a two storey cl imbing wal l . To v i sual i ze the bu i ld ing form I modeled i t in 3d AutoCAD. I a lso used i t produce the geometry for the sect ions and elevat ions .

The lawyers office renova-t ion project introduced me to architectural problem solving. The layout was strictly based on functional ity, efficiency and meeting the specific requirements of the cleint.Rendering was done using Photoshop.

Main Floor Plan

The Home I designed for the zero lot l ine project focused on the functional ity and flow of the space. One of my goals was to make every square foot count by l imit ing dead or unused space. One of the ways I acheived this was by having a central-ized staircase and a spl it level layout. This setup allows me to el iminate the use of hallways while st ill seperat ing publ ic and private spaces. Features of the home include roof deck, double-height l iving room, and large bedrooms with clerestory win-dows. Rendering was done using pastel marker and pencil crayons.

This mixed-use building is located in Kitsilano and provides space for retail, office and residential.
