Engineering Studies/Engineering Technologies /Engineering Drawing / Information & Communication Technology / Design /Construction Materials / Construction Technology/ Information Technology

• English, OR (2) A Pass (Lulus Naik Taraf) in Pre-Science (PD007/

PD008) from UiTM, OR

(3) A Pass Certificate of Polytechnic or other

institutions that are recognized by the Malaysian

Government with a minimum Grade 3 in

Mathematics, Engineering Science and four (4)

other subjects .

The Faculty offers the Diploma in Civil Engineering (EC110) at following UiTM campuses; Johor, Pahang, Pulau Pinang and Sarawak.

The first year of the Diploma programme provides a comprehensive foundation in civil engineering science with courses such as Mathematics, Physics and computing. In the Second Year, emphasis is given to civil engineering course like Solid Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulic, Soil Mechanics, Construction Materials and Basic Surveying. The final year courses focus on projects or with similar content. Students of the last semester is reinforced by industrial training.

CAREER PROSPECT

After graduating with Diploma in Civil Engineering, candidates are qualified to work as technical assistants in public and private sector. EC110 is a 6 years ETAC accredited programme.

Based on their technical and planning skills, graduates can also embark on entrepreneurial activities and start their own business.

Alternatively, candidates can continue their studies and enroll in the Bachelor Degree programme offered by the faculty, local or overseas universities.

The field of civil infra-structure systems builds an extend to the traditional civil engineering areas. Rather than focus on individual structural components or structures, civil engineering infrastructure systems emphasizes how different structures behave together as a system that serves community’s needs. Infrastructure is the basic physical systems of a business or nation; examples are transportation, communication, sewage, water and electric systems. These systems tend to be high-cost investments; however, they are vital to a country's economic development and prosperity. Civil Engineers expect to have an exciting career in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Highway Engineering, etc.
