Attheheartofthecoursearethe20sessionsof3.5-hourlonglivevirtualclasses,

eachofwhichexploresadifferentaspectof,orapproachto,coachingsupervision.

Withnomorethan15participantspercourse,thetrainingsessionsprovideanintimate

experienceinwhichyou’llgettoknowandworkwithyourpeersandcourseleaders.

Each session consists of a mix of:

Themaintraininggroupisdividedintosub-groupsofbetween4and6participants

toformReflectivePracticeGroups.

Thesegroupsservetwomainpurposes.

Supervision-of-Supervision

Firstly,itservesasasafe,supportiveanddevelopmentalspacetoexplorethesupervisionyouundertake

withsupervisees.Thegroupengagesingroupsupervision-of-supervisiontosupportparticipantsto

unpackanychallengesandactivelyconnectthelearningfromthecoursetoreal-lifesupervisionissues.

Alongsidethis,thegroupgivesyouadirectexperienceofbeingpartofgroupsupervisionwhichsupports

yourowndevelopmentofthisskill.

Practical Assessment and Feedback

ThesecondpurposeoftheReflectivePracticeGroupistoenableaspaceinwhichyoucompletea

demonstrationofsupervisionaspartofyourcourseassessment.

Thismeansyouwillbeabletocompleteyourassessedsessionundersupportiveobservationandreceive

constructivefeedbackfromboththegroupsupervisorandyourpeers.

Asmuchaswelovedin-persontraining,wehavefoundthattheonlineexperiencehas

nowonlyallowedustobetrulyglobalbutalsotocreateaspaceofequallearning.

Element 3 Course Work & Assessment

InadditiontothesynchronousworkdoneonthelivetrainingandReflectivePracticeGroups,

thecourseengagesyouinarangeoflearningtoensurethatyouembedyourskillsthrough

practiceandpersonalreflection.

This entails:

Personalreadingandstudy

Submissionofareflectiveclientcase-study

Submissionofapersonalresearchproject

SubmissionofaPersonalStatement

Completion of 25 hours of client supervision practice

Startingfromaroundweek6,youwill

begintoworkwithsuperviseesoutside

ofthetrainingsessions.Thesemightbe

coachesfromyourworkplaceorsourced

independently.

Submission of a personal research project

Supervisionisafascinatingandrich

landscapetoexploreandtherewillalways

beareasthatgrabyourinterestmore

strongly.Aspartofthecourseyouwill

completeapersonalprojecttoanswera

questionyouraiseforyourself.Thiswill

beyourfirsttrueforayintoestablishing

yourownuniquelineofinquirywithin

supervision.

Submission of a reflective client case-study
