Direction definition
Click the Direction definition button in the dynamic analysisparameter dialog to define the direction of spectral/seismic excitation.
The Resolution of a force (seismic/spectral) into directions optiongenerates three seismic cases differing in direction of excitation. Theexcitation direction (X!") defined at the top of the dialog isappropriately resol#ed for the case (X$$) ($!$) ($$"). The names
of the ne%ly created cases contain information indicating %hichdirection the excitation is defined. Therefore #alues defined in the X !" fields are components of the excitation #ector. &elect 'se normalied#alues to scale component #alues so that the resultant #ector is a unit#ector.
or a seismic case calculated according to codes *& +, and -*& +$the parameter determining the spectrum direction is automatically set.
