Director’s Notes RENT! I have nothing stellar to say, really, because this show speaks for itself. I have to thank Mike Trapp for his willingness to back this show. Not many companies will take on a contemporary show such as this, due to adult themes, etc., but in looking at how to approach our season with the closing of Rocky Horror, I felt this would be a wonderful show on which to start. This cast is really amazing and has been from the very first rehearsal even. It’s been a great experience and such a fun “family” that I am both thrilled to open, yet sad to close this show. Our band is going to rock the house as well, so I also thank them for their time and talent. Thank you cast and crew from the bottom of my heart. I love you all. And thank you, Mike. Kyndra Braden - Ensemble - Kyndra Braden is a recent graduate from the University of Toledo where she received her Bachelor's degree in Women's and Gender studies with a concentration in Sexuality. Her last performances were belly dancing with her troupe Femme Non-Fatale at the Renaissance Faire, and UT's past few productions of the Vagina Monologues. She has taken a break from musical theater and is thrilled to make RENT her first show back! Joey Chase - Tom Collins - Joey is excited to be back on the RRR stage and crossing off performing in RENT from his bucket list. When Joey isn't performing, he's teaching elementary school, singing in a community men's chorus or visiting his favorite local brewery. Joey doesn't wish to open a restaurant in Sante Fe but he does wish that you enjoy the show! Ben Close - Ensemble - This is Ben’s first show with the RRR. He has thoroughly enjoyed working with such talented people and looks forward to many more!

Josh Glover - Music Director - Josh is very excited to be the music director for this production of RENT. He has been a huge fan of the show since he first heard the OBC recording back in the 90’s. Josh is a proud member of the Bedford Public Schools music department, where he teaches band and choir. Josh music directs and performs in various pit orchestras for many theater companies in the area, but he always thinks of the RRCA as his home base. Tracy Ann Glover - Director, Mark’s Mom - Tracy is thrilled to be back on the RRR stage in RENT! You’ve seen her as Janet Weiss in The ROCKY HORROR SHOW, and as Betty Haynes in WHITE CHRISTMAS. Tracy is currently the private voice teacher for the RRCA, the choir and musical director for SMCC High School, and thoroughly enjoys her position here directing for the River Raisin Repertory Company. Tracy would like to thank this wonderfully awesome cast for not only sharing their talent on this stage, but for helping out with numerous things during the production process. Thank you to Derek, Mike, Dan, Calley, and Daniel who are a wonderful front office/tech support staff, and to her awesome choreographer Alyssa for being her right hand lady :) Thank you Josh, Emma, and Nathan for your support as always, and love to all that support this theatre :)

Dylan Jablonski - Roger Davis - Dylan has been doing work with the RRR for almost seven years now, and he is pleased as punch to be playing the role Roger. This is a dream role for Dylan, and he is honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of this amazing cast! So sit back and relax (in our brand new seats) and enjoy this wonderful production! Kari Jenkins - Ensemble, Alexi Darling - Kari is no stranger to the stage between theater and dance. She has done numerous shows for the RRR including The Rocky Horror Show (3 years), White Christmas, Spamalot, Home for the Holidays and Jesus Christ Superstar just to name a few. She is very excited she gets to cross RENT off her theater bucket list! Emily Johnson - Ensemble - Emily was so grateful to be asked to join the cast of Rent, a show that is on her bucket list. Previously, Emily has appeared as a Laker Girl in “Spamalot” and was part of the chorus in “Home for the Holidays”. Emily also played Patty Simcox in MCP's production of “Grease”. Emily resides in Monroe with her husband, Patrick, and daughter, Reese. She spends her time away from the theater running emily e. photography.

Daniel H. Zook - Angel Dumott Schunard - Originally based in the DC area for the last 8 years. His professional arts-training began at George Mason University (GMU) in 2007 receiving his B.F.A. and B.A. in Business Management. During his time at GMU he became a founding member of Keith Thompson’s Dance Tactics Performance Group. While with Dance Tactics, he performed and taught at the 2006 American Dance Festival Intensive and White Wave Dance Festival. After graduating he joined CityDance’s team as an artist and administrator. Along with dancing with CityDance resident company Christopher K. Morgan & Artists (CKM&A), Daniel teached in CityDance’s studio education and community programs across the DC metropolitan area. In 2010 he was added on as an adjunct artist with The Dance Exchange, where he can be seen performing as well. He has been given opportunities to collaborate with James Madison University’s Science Professors and their Associate Dance Company, the National Building Museum, Elizabeth City Nursing Home, Met Life: Aging In America San Francisco Conference, and Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers.

Cassondra Kiley - Ensemble - Cassondra loves musical theatre and has been in many productions, such as GREASE, Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, and Legally Blonde. She is honored to be a part of such an amazing cast full of great friends. Paige McElmury - Maureen Johnson - Paige is just over the moon about performing in RENT. You may have seen her last as Columbia in the RRR's production of The Rocky Horror Show. This is Paige's dream role and she can't wait to share this experience with everyone. She also wants all of you to know that Idina Menzel responded to her tweet so basically this was meant to be. Paige's role as Maureen, the outrageous bisexual performance artist, is not acting. This is actually who she is as a person. Also sorry mom I didn't tell you I had to show my butt. Enjoy the show! Spencer McQuestion - Ensemble - This is Spencer’s third show with the RRR. He has appeared on the RRR stage in Little Shop of Horrors, & Seussical! He would like to give a shout out to his family and good friends CK and HT for their constant love and support.

Kaylynn Schreiber - Ensemble - Kaylynn is excited that she has been given the opportunity to be part of RENT and to, once again, work along side friends and amazing cast members. Most recently she was cast as ensemble for Jesus Christ Superstar and has been cast as a phantom in the Rocky Horror Show in previous years. She has also worked on multiple stage crews and other various roles for local performances over the years. Kaylynn would like to thank her husband, Benjamin Schreiber, and her parents, John and Debbie McGovern, for all of their love and support over the years. She would also like to thank Tracy Glover for giving her this amazing opportunity to be part of such a wonderful show with such an incredible cast. Andrea Vanderhorst - Mimi Marquez - Andrea is ecstatic to be playing the role of Mimi, a dream role of hers. Andrea is a stay at home mom to Jackson, 3, and Owen, 1. Andrea is thankful for her wonderful husband for his support and encouragement. This production of RENT marks Andrea's return to the stage after a 7 year hiatus. She is honored to be a part of this incredibly talented cast. Josh Warren - Ensemble - Though Josh has been involved with theater for 8 years, this is his second show with the RRR. He’s also appeared in Urinetown, & The Musical Comedy of Murders of 1940.

Tim Middleton - Mark Cohen - Oh, hi there! Welcome to RENT. Do you know Tim? He's done shows here before. Perhaps you've seen the Rocky Horror Show? Tim appeared as Brad Majors during their 7 year run. Also, in Spamalot as Sir Robin the Brave, and Billy Flynn in CHICAGO. However, the chance to play Mark is a dream come true for him. Tim would like to say thank you to his incredible family, and his friends-who he also considers family. You guys have been such a powerful supportive group. Lastly, he wants to dedicate this show to the lives and memories of Andrea Miller and Karin (Paterson) Herrera. Two very amazing friends who will forever live in his heart. Enjoy the show. Julia Navarre - Ensemble - This is Julia’s first show with the RRR. She is currently at freshman at MCCC and thoroughly enjoys being on stage. She was involved with the MCP production of GREASE last summer. Julia is honored to sing alongside such an incredible cast. She hopes you enjoy the show. RENT! Miranda Ottenbreit - Ensemble - Miranda is a freshman at EMU. Previous shows include Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Waking Life. She loves performing and wants to thank her family and friends for their continued support.

Kylie Parks - Angry homeless woman, Ensemble Kylie is excited to make her return to the stage for the first time since The Producers in 2013. The RRCA is where she began her theater career, in Seussical the Musical, over a decade ago. She has also been seen in a variety of productions, including The Curious Savage, Will Roger’s Follies, and Urinetown. Dan Priest - Benjamin Coffin, III - This is Dan's third show with the RRR. He last appeared in "Jesus Christ Superstar" for four smashing minutes; earlier, he performed a multitude of not quite dead characters in "Spamalot". When not acting like a pale imitation of Taye Diggs, Dan teaches English and history at the Monroe County Middle College. Daveaux Riggs - Joanne Jefferson - Daveaux is thrilled to be returning to the RRR stage! She started her dance training at the RRCA when she was 6 and her last RRR production was “White Christmas” in 2010. She hopes you feel how much passion and emotion the cast has put into this incredible show.
