Title: Is Flag Hoisting Ceremony on Mondays necessary?

Issue:Flag hoisting ceremony happens on Mondays at every school. It presented by students and teacher. There’s some script are red by students, it depends on their school.

Argument ‘for’: It cannot be denied that rituals and ceremonies are symbols of cultural belonging and identity.

Elaboration: In Indonesia, there is flag hoisting ceremony on Mondays at every school. It claimed that it can make ourselves more respect to our heroes, because of them, we can live happily and safely now. Flag hoisting ceremony also can diciplined ourselves to obey school system. Even that most of the students never realize that flag hoisting is a special moment on Mondays. It can be a ‘special reminder’ about Mondays. Because flag hoisting ceremony just happen in Mondays.

Argument ‘contra’: But, in fact, the flag hoisting ceremony is not the only way to respect our heroes.

Elaboration: There are still many way to do that, such as study hard, keep our identity and social culture, always do good things and so on. Then, most of flag hoisting ceremony spend many time that descend our time for study at school. Sometimes bad weather while flag hoisting ceremony can cause the students feel annoyed and tired. Beside that, after that ceremony, the students should study in classroom. This can make the students don’t pay attention at all to the teacher or the lesson.

Conclusion: For all the reasons above, we can conclude that flag hoisting ceremony is not only brings students advantages, but it gives disadvantages too. But in all reasons, we should obey our school system about flag hoisting ceremony.
