A 2,800 acre working ranch on the model of what you would have found in Baja Norte over 100 years ago.

The views from the rolling hills are vast

There are stands of oak and sycamore, seasonal creeks, springs, rugged hillsides, boulder piles, etc. There is also access to thousands of acres of farming, ranch land, and wilderness nearby.

U.S.-Tecate Crossing

Carpool to the U.S.-Tecate border

We typically carpool to the border, park our cars in a secure lot on the U.S. side.• By leaving our cars in the U.S., we are

able to cross back in just a few minutes• Passport are suggested but not required• CA driver’s license (or other gov’t ID) is

all that is legally required for U.S. citizen

U.S.-Tecate Crossing

Tecate and the Guadalupe Valley are two lesser known gems of Baja California

The weekend starts as we cross the border Friday afternoon at the U.S.–Tecate border• We usually plan to re-enter the U.S.

around 4:00pm on Sunday• Extended weekends or mid-week visits

can be arranged as well

The Rural Landscape

Traveling Highway 3 through the rural landscape, you’ll see picturesque ranchos and villages, then on to Rancho La Bellota at road’s end.

Accommodations – Cabins

Accommodations are charming guest cabins equipped with private bathrooms. Couples can book a private cabin, singles often share cabins with other same-gender guests in our group.

All Ranch meals are included in your visit — healthy, delicious and traditional, served family style in the candlelit dining room. Lighting is by kerosene lamp, candles, and solar powered lanterns.

We often simply take a short walk and find a beautiful spot to spend the day painting• Chairs with shade canopies are

provided at scenic spots• Nature-made shady areas under

beautiful oaks and sycamore trees• Transportation is available to locations

on or off the Ranch

Approximately 25 minutes away, wineries offer inspiring landscape and architectural subjects.

Painting Supplies

Guests supply their own art materials

Plan to bring clothes, personal necessities, snacks, and a desire to paint and/or relax! • Turpentine is also on site, so guests do

not need to transport it across the border• A limited number of canvases and

supplies are kept at the ranch for a small fee

Local Wineries

A visit to nearby wineries for painting, tasting, or lunch can be arranged for a group of 3 or more with prior notice.

A Government Certified Resort

The ranch has been certified as a destination resort for horseback riding and bird watching. Osprey, owls, hawks, quail, and a pair of nearby nesting golden eagles can be seen on ranch property.
