Day 1 - May 8 Arrive Cape Town South AfricaArrive in the vibrant city of Cape Town, where you will be met by an African Travel Inc. representative in the arrivals hall and transferred to the Commodore Hotel - 4 nights

Day 2 – May 9Cape TownThe day begins with a cable car ride up to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city. After descending the mountain, drive past the Castle of Good Hope, the country’s oldest building and marvel at the vibrant colors of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes in the Malay Quarter. The tour ends with a visit to a Diamond workshop and showroom, where you witness the process of cutting and polishing a diamond. After lunch at a local restaurant, make your way to the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V & A Waterfront for your ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Later this evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - May 10Cape WinelandsToday, enjoy a full day excursion to the Cape Winelands. Revel in the scenery…like the picturesque little village of Franschhoek, first settled by the Huguenots. Take a stroll through historical, charming Stellenbosch with its Cape Dutch architecture, absorbing the quaintness of this lovely university town. Two wine tastings and a cellar tour have been organized at different wine estates with lunch at Boschendal Estate. After a wonderful day enjoying the sights and tastes of the winelands, you will be transferred back to your hotel. (B,L)

Day 4 – May 11The Cape of Good HopeA spectacular day is planned discovering the pristine coastline and quaint towns along "The Fairest Cape."

Hug the cliffs as you snake along legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. You will have the opportunity to ride the Flying Dutchman funicular to the old lighthouse for awe-inspiring views! After lunch at Seaforth Restaurant, continue along the coast to the lively penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Later this evening, you are transferred to GOLD restaurant for dinner. Your evening starts with an interactive Djembe drumming session which will get you in tune with the African rhythms and songs of the night. Dinner is a set course menu consisting of delicious Cape Malay and African cuisine. Be captivated by the drummers, singers and graceful Mali Puppets as they dance around your table. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – May 12 Johannesburg – Hoedspruit – Karongwe Private Game ReserveToday transfer by private vehicle to the airport where you will be met and assisted with check in for the flight bound for Hoedspruit, via Johannesburg. You will be met on arrival by a lodge representative and driven with fellow guests to Karongwe Private Game Reserve. The Karongwe Private Game Reserve is set against the backdrop of the majestic Drakensberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province. Arrive in time for the afternoon game viewing drive in an open safari vehicle with your expert game ranger and eagle eye tracker. A stop will be made along the way where you can enjoy your afternoon sundowner. (B,L,D) Shiduli Private Game Lodge - 3 nights

Day 6 – May 13Karongwe Private Game ReserveThe morning and afternoon game drives offer the opportunity to see the Big Five and a large variety of other wildlife, while the rangers provide interesting information and anecdotes about the inhabitants of the bush. (BLD)

Day 7 – May 14Karongwe Private Game ReserveAfter an exciting morning of game viewing, return to your lodge for a day at leisure, maybe even an afternoon siesta before heading out into the bush again later this afternoon. This evening, weather permitting, you will have a special Boma / Bush Dinner under the African sky – together with the local tribe, Shangaan, singing and dancing for you. (BLD)

Day 8 – May 15Karongwe Private Game Reserve - JohannesburgAfter breakfast, travel back to Johannesburg via the Panorama Route. This is one of the most beautiful and popular travel destinations in South Africa and leads through the rugged mountain range of the northern Drakensberg in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. A lunch stop will be made along the way at Harrie’s Pancakes in the town of Graskop - reputed to serve the best sweet and savorypancakes (crepes). Upon arrival in Johannesburg, youhave the balance of the day at leisure. (B,L)Davinci Hotel & Suites – 1 night

Day 9 - May 16Johannesburg – Journey OnwardAfter breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet your guide in the hotel lobby for your tour of Soweto. A stop is made at the late Nelson Mandela’s former home, which has been transformed into a museum. After lunch, you will visit the Apartheid Museum. Documentary pieces of film, texts, sound clips and live accounts recapture life in the old South Africa. After your amazing tour, you will be transferred to Johannesburg Airport for your onward departure flight. (B,L)
