Dec 4 TAKAMATSU DAY 1 : Arrive Takamatsu (from Hong Kong Flight UO 3522) Seto Inland Sea is noted for its scenic beauty. Islands lie scattered across the sea’s tranquil waters, white sand y beaches rim its shores, pine groves provide welcome shade, and rice paddies terrace the hillsides. Since ancient times, the Seto Inland Sea has served as a strategic shipping route, carrying not only goods but also peoples and cultures to and from the Kansai area. The islands and coastal regions welcomed this influx of knowledge while, at the same time, developing their own unique culture and traditions. The fact that the region was formed through the workings of both man and nature is one of its many charms.

PM Shikoku is a world apart from the rest of Japan in feel and history. Explore the famous Ritsurin Gardens. Dec 5 NAOSHIMA
DAY 2 Ferry to Naoshima Naoshima is a hilly island where the winding coastline reveals the natural beauty that islands
of the Inland Sea are known for.
Naoshima today is the culmination of the dreams of Benesse founder, Tetsuhiko Fukutake, of
creating an area where children from around the world could gather on an island in the Seto
Inland Sea, and that of Chikatsugu Miyake, then mayor of Naoshima, whose own dream was
to develop the south side of Naoshima as a pristine and educational cultural area. Imagine
transforming a small traditional fishing island by letting some of the world’s best artists run
free and you can understand why Naoshima rates as one of the ‘seven places in the world you
should see next’ by Conde Nast Traveller.
