Discovery Centre
• In celebration of the international celebrations planned for the War of 1812, we are pleased to announce the opening of the new, 10,000 square foot, high tech, interactive Fort Henry Discovery Center featuring a sleek, modern retail store, guest cafe and 200 seat meeting and group dinner venue. The new Centre will be located beside the guest parking lot, constructed into the hill with a grand south view of Cedar Island.

• Home to over 20 interactive displays that will portray the importance of the site
• The New Discovery Centre will deliver key messages around the Fort, The City of Kingston, life in a British Garrison & Sir John A. Macdonald
• When partnered with our internationally recognized museum displays, interpretive programs and events it will deliver a full day tourism experience in the city

exhibits• Offering year round tourism product for the region• Offering conference facilities with programming integration to deliver
world class events• Guest services including accessible washrooms, café, large meeting
room, large outdoor deck facing Cedar Island, open + interpreting 12 months
• Large retail area (1600 sq ft) to generate sustainable retail revenue year round
• High tech displays with wireless internet capabilities throughout the building
• Large outdoor decking leading to large landscaped patio area with panoramic views of the city and the 1000 Islands
